 Just saying as someone who has several gay friends that they get asked that all the time and it is actually  insensitive. You wouldn't ask a heterosexual friend their sexual habits typically, why would you ask a gay friend? There is a thing called google.

I discuss both male and female friends of any orientation about their sex lives. Maybe it's just something you do when you're not concerned by the response of others.

Heh. Beyond the question of privacy, it is just a polite consideration to give to others that they might not be comfortable talking about sex. If they bring it up, fine... but, unless it's a pretty close friend, popping it as small talk can be ill-advised. Awkward smiles don't necessarily mean people aren't creeped out - and polite people rarely tell others they are uncomfortable.

Of course, I am such an innocent flower that I would have no clue what I am being asked to begin with. Last thing I remember was being dropped off by a stork. I never did find out why they didn't want me in their family.

One could mistakenly draw the conclusion that this would mean that someone not discussing their sexlives is "concerned" by the response of others. I don't discuss these matters (well, hardly). Not because I worry about what people might think about me, but

a) because this topic also involves the privacy of someone else (because I don't tend to do it solo)

it's none of their damn business what I do, nor is it any of mine what they do.

And I totally don't care about how people respond to that stance

PS: I am with Richard on the "not knowing what I was asked". I was entirely confused about how this thread went from the sexual orientation of someguy to sports...

Haha I have no issue with the quote or the movie. I just read the first four words and found it amusing in the context of this pitcher/batter conversation.

It was no easy task, I wasn't sure if I was going to come in here but then when I saw everyone else came then I knew was going to come as well .
