"Herd Immunity"... I was in favor of that solution from the beginning. Has anyone here actually had the Corona virus?

A manager at my wife's restaurant had it. He went and got tested, and they forced him into quarantine for 14 days. My wife got it, and she had it for 5 days. I got it from her, and I was sick for 7 days.

Anyone that has died from Covid-19 had one foot in the grave already.

It was the strangest flu I have ever had in my life. It started as an upper respiratory lung infection, but it was painful more than anything else. It never developed into that heavy lung congestion where you're coughing up wads of mucous... it just hurt for a couple days, and moved into my throat. It hurt for a couple days, and moved to my head. I lost all taste and sense of smell. It was the strangest flu I ever had because I have never felt anything like it... and I have had everything in my lifetime from the most debilitating flus, to full on pneumonia. Your head gets muddled... you feel like you have a fever, but you don't. The best way to explain it, is you feel like you have an artificial flu... like it's not real. You just feel like shit, at a constant 50%, and then it's gone just as fast as it came. It was really nothing, and extremely mild in comparison to things I have had in the past.

I 100% believe it's a manufactured virus. China did this to us, and they should not get away with it.

Thanks guys, but it was really nothing. It happened a couple months ago, and we were more concerned about the 92 year old veteran that we are care-givers for. He must have an absolute immunity, because he never had a single symptom. It came on really fast. Eddie is the manager, he's an immigrant from Guatemala, and an amazing man. Pretty strange because he was such a maniac about the mask and gloves... I mean, hazmat maniac... and he got it anyway. When he dropped with a positive test, my wife was a wreck, because she knew she was next... and I knew I was next. In all cases, it was nothing.

This is so politically over-blown it's criminal... and a complete disaster for everyone. This must end.

My colleage just called that her test came back positive. She's been working from home since last Tuesday. She didn't have the best time of her life for a couple of days, but nothing too serious. Nobody else has shown any symptoms although my head did hurt for a day. I'm pretty sure I what I and several other colleagues had WAY BACK in December was in fact COVID and we still have the immunity from then.

Pfizer is done with the first 30,000... looking to juice another 14,000 just to make sure.

It's called "Operation Warp Speed". Phase 3 is the last phase before final approval. They know it already works. My guess is the final approval will take about 24 hours. They have been mass producing millions of doses, in advance, because they already know it works. I don't know how they will deal with it in your country... remember, the USA withdrew from the WHO, because they lied for China.

I will not be getting this vaccination. Covid-19 is not nearly as bad as it's been sold. I want this vaccine released ASAP as a big STFU to any, and all, whimpering babies that are using this weak virus to keep the country down to boost their political agenda.

Yes about a dozen pharmaceutical company's are already producing 100's of millions of vaccines, ready to distribute when proper vetting has been done thruwout all the stages of the trials. Guess its is that American exceptionalism thats thinking that only the US is actually thinking ahead.

Also who is doing the "overselling" of COVID-19? Is it the health officials or is it the Trump administration who wants you to think the Democrats find it the next world ending disaster?

Anyone who wants to make this thing out as Ebola or SARS has indeed overselled it, but strangly I don't recall hearing such overreactions unless from Republican speakers trying to tie this to a hoax.

At the current recorded population infection rate, you'd need atleast 5x the mortality to come close to herd immunity (I am going for a 10% infection rate). Who is going to convene those death panels?

And it is great that you got away from this not just with your life but with no continued issues, sadly there is an ever increasing % of the recovering patients who need months if not years of continued support due to varous pulmonary or cardiovascular issues that pop up from this bug.

Yeah people don't usually die from a virus but from complications or organ failures due to our body's overreaction (read inflamation) to the disease.

Also it isn't a flu, it just has (some) flu like symptoms. Losing taste is a big indicator it isn't actually an influenza virus, those don't do that.

In regards to the "herd immunity" idea, in a majority of cases of covid it's exactly as you described it Lys, a flu, maybe slightly more severe, and that's it. The mortality rate in the United states is about 2.2%. The problem is that breaking it down into those numbers ignores a number of things going on. We have observed permanent damage suffered from having had covid in patients who have survived it. That aside, some quick math tells me that based on the population of the United States, we can expect a little over 7.2 million people to die when its all said and done. Is that an acceptable outcome? Are we willing to sacrifice that many people because we are inconvenienced by the precautions we are having to take?

I think its supposed to make as much sense as that video. Your source could be credible but that I doubt that video is. He's talking about Covid as a hoax and then says something about concentration camps (going to be entirely honest I couldn't keep watching at that point, I was too busy laughing). You said you had covid, you should know better than most that it isn't a hoax. You can accuse people of being alarmist and overblowing the whole thing, I would disagree, but that's a discussion worth having that makes logical sense based on your experience. To outright call it a hoax basically signals that nobody should listen to you imo.

Parler is a right-wing reactions to being "censored" off twitter (lets ignore they censor aswell...) and trying to be "free speech for the supressed". The entire thing is filled with the same 3 groups that made twitter a nightmare for many: conspiracy theorists, mindless zealots and trolls.

The virus is real... what is a hoax is that it's some kind of ultra-killer, and we have to surrender our lives to the decisions of the unelected few, so they can practice population control. It's not an ultra-killer... it's the weakest flu I ever had, and I've had some really bad ones.

And I guess by listening to this ass we can all see some truth to it.

It was my date night with my wife tonight... I was very gone for several hours, so I did not see this until now, but I'm not the only one that heard about this today. Tucker Carlson led his show with it, and he includes the ass from the previous video I posted. So... more truth.

Like I said before you are more than welcome to hold that opinion Lys, you had the virus so you would know more personally than I would about what that experience is like. I think the problem with Covid is that it isn't some ultra killer, but it is extremely contagious as evidenced by the person who spread it to your wife being someone you thought taking things very seriously and he still got it. We don't have any good ways to treat it and it's ability to spread makes it dangerous. The percentages of people who get bad enough cases to die or have serious and lasting problems is low, but when applied to entire populations those small percentages translate to millions of people dead. We needed to take it seriously across our entire population for a month in order to stop its rampant spread and get it contained. Due to political division on how to handle the virus, and the idea that the entire thing was a hoax, many people didn't take it seriously allowed it to continue to spread. We're now 7 months in and still haven't been able to contain it.

Since I don't think I said it before, I'm glad you and your family came through alright after catching the virus.
