We used to do this on another forum I visit.
Basically artist X calls out artist Y and then moderator P selects a theme.
Both the artists make a sig for that theme which is to be submitted on a scheduled date. Then the votes are left open to the public to vote who won that battle. And then their name is put on the wall of fame or something with the sig they made.
And yes it doesn't have to be 1 v 1 it could be bigger.
