David Beckham and Robbie Keane are going to the quarter finals! And Jovan Kirovski too... I see it's quite a long time since a US team last won it.
<--------- No prizes for guessing my affiliation.

It was quite surprising when we heard he was going to leave the premiership.

How is Keane doing over in the states?
It was quite surprising when we heard he was going to leave the premiership.
He was on a roll before he got hurt in Euro qualifying. He's back now and had a bunch of shots on goal in thursday's match against the Red Bulls. He wasn't expected to be back until about the western conference finals or the MLS Cup but he made a full recovery and is back!!

Swansea are a really quite decent team and I do hope they keep going like they are. They pass beautifully, Joe Allen Leon Britton, Nathan Dyer and Scott Sinclair know what they're doing and they'll probably be premier league players for quite some time. Vorm looks like a class keeper at the moment too. Not to mention that they should have won this game late on, Mark Gower blazed a sitter well over the bar.
But gruuuhhhuaadssaduuu, you have to beat promoted teams at home. Stewart Downing is looking really really crap right now, Andy Carroll is Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson is not a good player on the right of midfield, Luis Suarez is just one man. Liverpool's next 3 games: Chelsea away, Man City away, Chelsea away (league cup). I am going to be miserable until probably mid-December.

True story - you see that lovely flat volleyed ball out wide on about 0:24? I played one exactly like it last weekend.
Not completely intentionally, I confess.

O-M-G. Glen. Johnson. They call him GJ2 (do they actually?). Liverpool unbelievably profligate this season, it has been something of an over-used word. Chelsea not good at all first half or in defense generally, but a bit hard done by today after that second half. Mata looked absolutely quality in the 2nd half, he's going to be a hugely important player for them this season.
It could be worse, you could be a Bolton fan like me.
