Yeah, he is pretty much the only true alternative in US politics right now. Shame he got little traction in the primaries, but I will vote for him if he runs as an independent (that, or I will write him in my vote). We're stuck with the choice of either a flip-flopping plain-speaker expert who has only been proven a success at outsourcing or a man who, although has shown stellar military leadership and capability, has lacked leadership in helping the US out of its financial troubles (such as not going for a bipartisan deal that would help the debt problem) and someone who burned up nearly all of political capital over a half-assed healthcare reform bill.
Ron Paul may call himself a "true conservative", but, on the contrary, I think he is a "true liberal" in that he espouses the original sense of liberalism. That's at least my take on it.

i don't really prefer ron paul, but if your really interested in politics then read this, it is about obamacare that was passed 2 days ago with a 5-4 vote by the supreme court that approved the obamacare. it states that by 2014 it is mandatory that all americans buy expensive health care or they will be massively penalized

Forget about the personal penalties in Obamacare. What I really don't like about the bill is that it pushes all associated costs of healthcare and subsidies for insurance plans onto the states after 2017. That means trouble for my state (CA), and many others. Although California is working towards reforming pensions to get its budget in check (since Californians will NOT approve any more taxes, as Prop 29's failure showed), it is not out of the woods yet and having more bills to pay when we are trying to get our finances in order is like Obama leaving a flaming bag of poo at Sacramento's doorstep.
Obama should not bite the hand that feeds him. He is basically setting up the largest economy in the Union up for fail when we already have enough problems.

republicans wanted more state authority over it, and that's what Obama did. From then on, its their own fault what happens so I wouldn't blame that on Obama.
