So everyone... What kinda music do you all like?

I like wide variety!

Dupstep, Old Rap, Classic Rock (Oldies), Acid Rock, Punk Rock, Ska, Death/Thrash Metal, Classic Metal, Celtic Rock, Grunge, Garage Rock.

Music I hate:

Pop, Pop Punk, Anything with the word pop, Nearly all alternative music, Techno, Hardstyle, Modern rap (Hip Hop), Country, Black Metal, Religious Music, Any artist who writes nothing but mopey shit, Lil Wayne!!!!! Jazz, etc.

Exceptions:

SOME modern rap is good. Long as its not too poppy.

NOFX = Only good pop punk band.

Nazi Punk is the asshole of music.

Enter Sandman is Metalicas only worthy song.

Megadeth is about as metal as a tree...

So, please share.

My taste appears to be somewhat eclectic: I love classical music (emphasis on Baroque), opera (preferably Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini, but not shirking any other masters either), orthodox liturgical music and 'old roman chant', J-Pop, K-Pop, Arab pop, corsican polyphony, qawwali, electro swing, country ... and a lot of other stuff too >.<

You outlined virtually everything I hate (besides classical).
But its all good. As an artist, I can see all the good aspects of all music. Even if I dont like it, I can still very much consider it to be good.

Metal & Dubstep for a manic mood. Jazz/Swing and country just for dancing to. Techno & hip-hop for the groove. But it's disco that makes me move.

You will likely burn for all eternity in the firey pits of hell for this statement.

At least you will be joined by the likes of the inventor of AutoTune and K-E-Dollar Sign-Ha.  Enjoy.

Sorry - just saw this. But yes. They are one of the early musical influences on a young Yates. AND... it's hard for a lot of people to remember how awesome Metallica was before they became way more mainstream. It's like all the Michael Jackson bashing you hear. Sure. He went a little nutso starting in the late 80's or early 90's. But when Michael Jackson first burst on the music scene he was like nothing else in my lifetime. Completely changed music, music videos, and concert entertainment all in a big and positive way.

Any song Metallica made before the Black Album is better than Enter Sandman. The Black Album was the beginning of crappy music for Metallica.

Megadeth is about as metal as a tree...

They were one of the original "thrash/shredder" metal bands. They have moved away from that over the years.

But when Michael Jackson first burst on the music scene he was like
nothing else in my lifetime. Completely changed music, music videos, and
concert entertainment all in a big and positive way.

Absolutely true. He was, and arguably still is, THE King Of Pop.

I listen to almost anything, Pantera, Skillet, Hank Jr., Hank Sr., Johnny Cash, Black Sabbath, Eminem, Hell Yeah, AC/DC, Mudvayne, Jay-Z. Do not like any of today's country music (even though I live in "the home of country music"), prefer the old stuff.

Not a big fan of today's pop music, but I do like some Jazz and classical. I prefer heavy metal since I am extremely old and grew up in the 80's.

*brofist*

And yet, I can often find something to like about pop music.  Maybe just because you hear it so much?  That said, I'm pretty sick of Get Lucky [though I'm a fan of the Rick James wannabe in the video!] and Royals right now.

I like orchestrated classical scores, and modern orchestrated scores as well. A lot of it is that I just really really enjoy music that has emotion in it. Music that makes you feel something. As long as it isn't angsty anyway, because once something gets angsty I just start to feel weird about it. Maybe it's my view of the world, I dunno, angst just rubs me the wrong way.

A big fan of alternative rock, though it's a pretty diverse selection of music. Just tends to be where most the stuff I like lands.

80's rock.

Other than that, I generally find things I like in most genres of music, just at a lesser rate than those posted above.

Hate screamo, though. Intellectually I understand that it's a much more complex form of singing, and difficult to master. Ear-wise, it just sounds like screeching to me.

Baroque, jazz, alternative rock, and heavy metal.

Any further excursions tend to fall into "guilty pleasure" territory.

I actually find todays pop music to be better than older pop. Granted, still not a big fan of it.

IDM, Techno, Trance, Liquid D&B. Classical is fine and in particular I like impressionist music (e.g. Debussy). Movie symphonic music is cool too. Don't like loud screaming, think that catchy pop tunes (and dubstep) are overrated, and get my dose of lyrics through a concentrated amount of Nightcore.
