TBD Mafia - Game Thread!

Featured Replies

Note that Imran posted throughout the forums between the 14th and 21st when Lyner was lynched.

He didn't say he will be away from the game so that means he's lurking and leaving the town lynched a fellow townie.

No one except scum knows nothing. Statistically speaking Lyner had more probability of being scum and I didnt notice anyone else acting more scummy on Day 1 to switch my vote.

To add here, yes no one except scum knows nothing but it doesn't mean town cannot and will not scum hunt. We would scum hunt on the basis of this statement. Knowing that scum knows more, they would say or do things differently from the town.

I promise this would be the last.

My activity levels or my effectiveness in finding scum doesn't invalidate this statement.

Well I am not going to quote all those walls of texts to answer all your statements but it seems the summary of your accusations is:

1. I was not actively posting on Day 1

2. I voted Lyner without any scum hunting

3. i didnt comment on the EM-Kvin bandwagon

that fluff posting thing is nonsense as I had already pointed out in my last response. my first 2 ones may have been fluff but all my posts after that were not. there were other ppl posting more fluff than me. you can say robert was a lot more active but most of his posts were fluffs.

1. i never post that much on Day 1. because its mostly fluff and ppl throwing around accusations based on gut feeelings and what not. game really get interesting from day 2 when there is actually something to analyze. thats why i dont really care who gets lynched on day 1 with preference being an inactive player. so you will see me posting a lot less because i am not that interested on who is posting what logic for voting someone because its mainly all fluff. this is also why i am staunch supporter of day 1 lynches as opposed to No Lynch as otherwise day 2 becomes pretty much the same as day 1.

2, yes now you may say, why i didnt vote to lynch Rafay if i preferred someone to get lynched who is inactive/mostly posts fluffs. because i lynched rafay on day 1 last game too (iirc) and i wanted to give him a chance to see if he becomes more helpful in this game before lynching him.

3. i didnt prefer either kevin or EM getting lynched on Day 1 because ppl were basing their votes on fluffs and we shouldnt be lynching 2 experienced players on day 1 based on fluffs. however, since its day 1 and noone knows anything i wasnt going to do anything to defend them either. my choice of lynch was lyner and i stuck to it and let the majority decide who they want to lynch.

Now,

You spent a lot of time to analyze my posts and even looked at past games to build a case against me. You are completely wrong of course, but you get townie points from me for doing so much research and actually being active and scum hunting. I think this now may have turned into two townies going up against each other while the scums sit back and enjoy the show. i am still not convinced about your townliness but i am willing to see how another day goes by first.

for this day we should lynch the lurkers and ppl mosting fluffs.

Deadline is closing in! However I am also aware that this is a busy/holiday weekend for some (including myself), and I will likely not be able to review the thread until Sunday.

Since conversation is starting up again, I have extended the deadline ONE day until Sunday evening instead of Saturday.

Best of luck to you all, and Happy Halloween!

Mechanics

  • Pre-game, the mafia select one player in the game to veto. This player cannot be "chosen" (though they may become the other power role!). 2 of the remaining 6 townies are randomly selected by the moderator to be the Chosen Townies.
  • The Mafia are told who was Chosen, but the Chosen are not.
  • As long as BOTH chosen townies are alive, neither can be Night-killed and cannot be endgamed due to low player count: (ie; 1 or 2 Mafia vs. 2 Chosen is a town win).
  • Chosen Townies are revealed as "Chosen Townie" upon death (lynch or night kill)

Honestly, I'm not sure why the chosen townies have to keep their identities to the town when the mafia knows them already. Can they like reveal themselves now :\

The chosen townies don't know that they are chosen.

The mafia know who is chosen and thus have to get them lynched them rather than night-killed.

If a lynched townie is revealed as chosen, then we can put alot of suspicion on those that pushed hardest for it.

Now that I think about it, the mafia would have preferred to lynch a chosen townie, rather than Lyner.

So they while would need to lynch some non-chosen townies and could easily have joined in the bandwagon, I would put more suspicion on those that were pushing for the lynches on Electric Mango and me.

This was the vote count near the end of day 1. I would switch to Robert2424 and then Rafay would put the final vote on Lyner.

In hindsight, we know that Lyner and Robert2424 were non-chosen townies.

Imran was the first vote so that gives him some townie points in my opinion. (Scum would have wanted to start on a chosen townie)

Meanwhile, Kaziocore had two votes on him and didn't draw any additional attention.
Why? I can think of two reasons:

1) He's also a non-chosen townie and the scum wouldn't care between him and Lyner.
2) He's scum and they wouldn't want to lynch their own.

Of course, he could also be a chosen townie and the scum didn't want to draw suspicion on themselves by lynching a chosen townie early, but would they really be that smart?

Halloween is come and gone - hope everyone had a good one!

Just over 11 hours to go...

Rafay: Mostly posting fluff, not really posting much content but does seem to be reading the posts at least somewhat and he has voted for Kaz(although it's a really short explanation, it isn't a bad one necessarily. He's simply needs to explain that Kaz is trying to hard to lynch Imran based on little to no real info). This could be a case of apathy, scumminess or both.

Kaz: Posting content, and whatever fluff he posts is outweighed by the analyses he posts. That said, his analyses contain a lot of him just grasping at straws, pointing out small, sometimes irrelevant details to try and convince others of his suspect's scumminess. That said(again), he does make some good points.

thats neither here nor there. who are you nominating to get lynched today?

I thought I was lynched already D:

If you're not paranoid, then how could you catch scum?
Knowing nothing, where will you start?

Also it's always a shame here when the only reason a player is being lynched is

because they are inactive or they are posting fluff.

The day had seen the town divided as far as it could go, and a lull of silence followed... until at the end there were only two on the ballot. Such decisions are never made easily - everyone had to have their say before the day's ghastly ritual could be concluded.

In the end it was Rafay who had to die - the day's votes tallied and his fate administered by shovel to the back of the head. The hesitant town crowded around his still-twitching form and started emptying his pockets...

Only to find a strangely ornate dagger with recent bloodstains, looking a little too real to have been a prop from the just-past Halloween!

Rafay, Mafia Goon, was Lynched

...

It is now Night 2. Consider the thread locked until I post the start of Day 3 (whether someone locks it for me or not!)

Jubilant that their harsh justice was actually producing results, the town gathered the next day to continue their (literal) witch hunt. Surely the invisible powers of their chosen would bring them victory! But the festive mood is tempered as the town discovers that yesterday's kingmaker is today's fresh corpse... less ritually carved and more simply butchered this time, as though in a rage. It would seem there's a price to pay for opposing evil, and last night Montosh ended up paying it.

Montosh, Vanilla Townie, has been killed

Day 3 has begun!
