[KH-09] Forest Fire Mafia: Arsonists Win

Forest Fire is a 9-player Open Setup that won the Micro category in the 2015 Open Setup Design contest.

Setup

  • 2 Arsonists
  • 6 Tree
  • 1 Firefighter

Notes

  • Arsonists have a single factional night action. They may choose to prime a single target, or to ignite all previously primed targets.
  • Firefighter blocks the priming of a target ONLY on the night in which they are being primed.
  • Trees become Tree-stumps upon being lynched, allowing them to continue posting in the thread.
  • Firefighter, Trees, Tree-stumps, and Arsonists are all vulnerable to being primed and ignited.
  • Players are not told when they are primed, Arsonists are not told if the priming was successful.
  • Tree-stumps cannot vote, and do not count as a vote for endgame purposes.

Alive:

Electric Mango, Arsonist

 Dead:

Road2Victory, Tree
Duderonomy, Tree
Lyner, Arsonist
iSocialism, Tree
Commander Shepard Firefighter
Duke Nukem Pretzimus the Great, Tree
Rafay, Tree
Robert2424, Tree

The Rules

  • The game is comprised of Arsonists and the Forest (Trees and Firefighter).
  • The game is won when only one faction remains in the game, or nothing can prevent the same.
  • During the Day phase, each player may speak and vote inthread.
  • If a player receives the majority of the available votes during the Day, they are lynched.
  • At deadline, a player with half-majority will be lynched.
  • You may vote No Lynch.
  • After the Day, the game goes to Night.
  • The game thread is closed during the Night. The Arsonists may speak to each other at Night. All Active Roles may submit actions via PM at Night.
  • The Arsonists can, as a faction, prime or ignite at Night.
  • After the Night, the game goes to Day.
  • Basic rules for maintaining the integrity of the game thread are in effect (i.e. players may not quote their Role PMs, nor may they discuss the game outside the game thread unless otherwise permitted, etc.)
  • Mass role-claiming is allowed. (Good luck with that!)

Game Days will last as many real-life days as there are players alive.
Game Nights will last 48 hours but will include at least one weekday.

Addendum to rules: "If a day reaches the deadline without a lynch, the player with the most votes over a half-majority will be lynched. In the event of a tie, the first player to the most votes will be lynched."

Vote Dude

If your voting scheme is right, I believe that scum would have targeted you by now.... primed target

However your ain't lynch/no-lynch tactics on d2 does not sit well with me.

Hmmm that is interesting point because everybody here is either scum or inactive I can see but I don't see how Duderonomy could be scum. I am the only innocent one here and I am neutral here but I don't think Duderonomy unless he's misleading me astray or trying to backstab me. That's why I am neutral but as the only innocent, I weigh my options carefully.

I feel like we are still in Day 1 random voting stage and its already Day 3. This is why I hate not lynching anyone. Robert is the games MVP so far. I would liken him to that of the role of Obi Won Kenobi. He was struck down but now he is more powerful than anyone could imagine.

I will be back later to vote for someone.

I'm voting Lyner because I learned a lot about him in Day 2.

Reasons for voting Lyner:

1. Was a kill vote (and was the second kill vote)

2. Bandwagoned onto kill vote

3. Attempted to gloss over logic for lynching on Day 2 without explanation.

4. Went into further explanation when pressed, but failed to account for all variables involved.

5. Continues to press for an all-lynch strategy.

Vote: Lyner

At the moment, I'm betting on isocialism for being the second arsonist, especially if I'm correct that Lyner is an arsonist. I'll go over my reasons in more detail when it comes time to vote for him. Based on his behavior on day 2, I think Electric Mango just likes to lynch people.

Oh please, just say the evidence now.

Now we can start the fun!

Number 1 and 2 can be applied to yourself, there is no such thing as a "kill vote", each vote counts in a wagon. If I do it at the last moments though that'd be a different story, except I didn't.

Number 3, I did explain my reasoning as to why I didn't favor the no lynch strategy far before you started accusing me of this, apparently you just don't read anything that doesn't directly mention your name, no?

Number 4 and 5, we reached a conclusion yesterday. Each strategy has it's own risks and I still hold on to my belief, but the majority of town picked the no-lynch (mostly out of inaction).

Vote: Lyner

He has just a good of a chance of being scum as anyone else and someone needs to get lynched this round or we could be in a big mess.

Quite the opportunist ;)

I'm still holding into my previous assessment that EM and Dude are our naughty boys, and now it is stronger.

Still can't yet get a good feeling on CS and Robert since both are not very vocal.

Rafay is too quiet in this game.

Since iSoc is being framed too then I assume he is the likeliest town here.

R2V I gave up convincing you. I might be biased but I guess Duderonomy is correct that you're more interested in fun than strategy

For now,

Oh shoot this is getting interesting

Not really, the votes from those three are predictable. My current theory is that Lyner/isocialism are our arsonists, while Rafay just wants to lynch the new guy.

With isocialism, he stayed pretty quiet in Day 2, and only emerged to support Lyner and lynching in Day 3. That sparks of being on a team, plus he's been rather quiet. My guess is that the arsonists have gone for a loud/quiet strategy with one member steering debates while the other flies under the radar. It maximizes the chances of at least one of them escaping lynches.

Still, I've become more suspicious with Commander Shepard's absence. As for Robert2424, it's going to be nearly impossible to determine his role until he is replaced. Not something that can be helped at the moment.

Yes only have us are playing this game....

Is it possible to pause the game after the next lynch until we get two more players, or does that risk losing momentum?

Man, if things go down like they're shaping up to, the next day will be popcorn-worthy.

Well if the scums reside in the inactives then we're screwed

I believe that one of them must be vocal though. Duderonomy fits the bill.

I'm expecting the desperate posts in the next few days

Desperation won't be needed until Day 4. I don't mind joining R2V if needed. This is about teams, not about individual performance.

The game will continue without pause.
Commander Shepard and Robert2424 both responded to a PM.
Invite your friends to be the replacement for Duke Nukem.
