[KH-09] Forest Fire Mafia: Arsonists Win

Forest Fire is a 9-player Open Setup that won the Micro category in the 2015 Open Setup Design contest.

Setup

  • 2 Arsonists
  • 6 Tree
  • 1 Firefighter

Notes

  • Arsonists have a single factional night action. They may choose to prime a single target, or to ignite all previously primed targets.
  • Firefighter blocks the priming of a target ONLY on the night in which they are being primed.
  • Trees become Tree-stumps upon being lynched, allowing them to continue posting in the thread.
  • Firefighter, Trees, Tree-stumps, and Arsonists are all vulnerable to being primed and ignited.
  • Players are not told when they are primed, Arsonists are not told if the priming was successful.
  • Tree-stumps cannot vote, and do not count as a vote for endgame purposes.

Alive:

Electric Mango, Arsonist

 Dead:

Road2Victory, Tree
Duderonomy, Tree
Lyner, Arsonist
iSocialism, Tree
Commander Shepard Firefighter
Duke Nukem Pretzimus the Great, Tree
Rafay, Tree
Robert2424, Tree

The Rules

  • The game is comprised of Arsonists and the Forest (Trees and Firefighter).
  • The game is won when only one faction remains in the game, or nothing can prevent the same.
  • During the Day phase, each player may speak and vote inthread.
  • If a player receives the majority of the available votes during the Day, they are lynched.
  • At deadline, a player with half-majority will be lynched.
  • You may vote No Lynch.
  • After the Day, the game goes to Night.
  • The game thread is closed during the Night. The Arsonists may speak to each other at Night. All Active Roles may submit actions via PM at Night.
  • The Arsonists can, as a faction, prime or ignite at Night.
  • After the Night, the game goes to Day.
  • Basic rules for maintaining the integrity of the game thread are in effect (i.e. players may not quote their Role PMs, nor may they discuss the game outside the game thread unless otherwise permitted, etc.)
  • Mass role-claiming is allowed. (Good luck with that!)

Game Days will last as many real-life days as there are players alive.
Game Nights will last 48 hours but will include at least one weekday.

Addendum to rules: "If a day reaches the deadline without a lynch, the player with the most votes over a half-majority will be lynched. In the event of a tie, the first player to the most votes will be lynched."

Pretzimus, youve had a long car ride and several days to read through everything. I am interested in hearing your thoughts up to this point.

I for one have always been the most suspicious of those that do not say much and play not to lose. Scum try to blend in with the crowd so I look for those that do not say or do anything that puts them in the lime light.

Two of the people that have been vocal have both been proven innocent by way of lynching and the rest have been out under the microscope while the people who have said or contributed little have gone by without nearly a vote.

Im looking at you Robert, Rafay and Pretzimus.

So let me get this straight, you're suspicious of me being an arsonist because I haven't said very much? Let me clear a few things up, from the time I was put in to this game to the time the day 3 ended was approx 17 hours, part of which I was sleeping, another part I was extremely busy. You are right, I did have a long car ride to read everything, but reading 9 pages of posts isn't easy to just evaluate on the spot. And during the weekend I was very busy too so it's not like I could spend all day thinking about this game and who may or may not be an arsonist or a tree. Hell, I didn't think about it even once. But life goes on.

So Lyner seems to be the prime suspect as one of the arsonists and after my initial reading through, I agree and also Commander Shepard is on my list as well

Why the suspicion EM?

Well, you were the final lynching vote. I'm still more suspicious of Lyner and iSocialism at this point. If I were the arsonists, I'd have one loud and one quiet guy to decrease the odds of both being lynched. I'm pegging Lyner as loud and iSocialism as quiet.

You're still probably more of a lynch-for-fun type, but I haven't played a lot of games with you.

Everybody's much better off thinking about previous behavior from other players and picking off anybody acting oddly. While being loud elicited suspicion, anybody that reads the OWF or this forum knows that I'm an overanalytical loudmouth. My behavior in this game was not out-of-character for me. Commander Shepard seems to typically be the quiet type. I don't know enough about Lyner, but isocialism tends to be quiet. Still, anybody that isn't speaking up at this point either doesn't want to win, or is an arsonist.

Deadline is 17:00 EDT Monday, October 26.

Welp, this is pretty bad

I expected a lot of forks on me, but it seems the scums are pretty cautious?

This could be our final day if scum perfectly primed us everynight, soo let's get one of em today

Yesterday's voting info:

Duderonomy (3): iSocialism, Lyner, Rafay
Lyner (3): Duderonomy, Electric Mango, Robert2424

Not voting: Commander Shepard, , Pretzimus the Great

CS is active but not responding to the game, which means it is likely that he got a boring role(vanilla town). We're pretty much screwed if he is part of the scum.

Pretzimus's predecessor hasn't spoken much, we need him to give us his opinion as much as possible so we can at least guess his alignment, so far so good.

Now we have iSoc, Rafay, EM, and Robert in the wagons. I'm pretty sure that at least one of the scum is among this 4 people, if not both.

Another interesting event is EM's sudden increase in activity much like Dude's second day

I'm going to re-read the entire thread tomorrow so as not to miss anything. More analysis later

Are you trying to defend your self? I remember you can in the last time you voted me off and that was just a random kill. Maybe was I just talking to much was that I was killed? Or I didn't respond when I was gonna get lynched. I didn't know about it till I got lynched. Tbh arsonists would probably have to take out the firefighters but instead they seem to do random killing and I was surpised Day 2 never actually happened because either the Arsonists didn't do anything or the firefighter prevented it. Evidence must be clear. We all know that me and Dude are now innocent, we will actually push strong for others to see what their opinion is about. Interesting how the 2 most active people and vocal people talk and they are both lynched.

An interesting fact Lyner. You've casted the wrong vote 2ice!!

You casted the lynching vote on R2V and also lead the lynch of Duderonomy. Interesting.

Rafay has a point.

1st he submitted the last vote on me and then lead lynching Duderonomy.

Does anybody not get the fact it was Lyner leading the killings of the trees???

He initiated and ended it.

I am pretty sure the Arsonists decided not to set fire on the trees because it was saved by a firefighter or they decided not too because they wanted something to happen.

I agree. There is no one else that has as much "evidence" against them as Lyner. It sucks that there have been so many people that have been inactive or too quiet. I hope we don't get burned by a bunch of inactive scum. Voting patterns don't lie and its time to vote or die sooooooooo..........

Vote Lyner

May the mod have mercy on our souls.

That's one thing that is tough for me. First I'm jumping into a game that's already been started. Second this is a new game for me so it's got all kinds of different strategies that I need to get used to. Whereas you all seem to be seasoned veterans at this game.

As you say evidence points towards Lyner. But who is the other scum?

I am also a new to this game and I think this the first game I played throughout the other time I had to quit because I was busy.

I believe it could isocialism or Commander Shephard both have been very supicious from the beginning and im curious about their responses since they have been short and concise.

Now that's more like it

An interesting fact Lyner. You've casted the wrong vote 2ice!!

You casted the lynching vote on R2V and also lead the lynch of Duderonomy. Interesting.

Ahem, more like we have casted the wrong vote twice, alongside EM

First day:

Road2Victory (3): Commander Shepard, Duderonomy, Lyner
Duderonomy (3): Rafay, Road2Victory, Electric Mango

Second day:

Duderonomy (3): iSocialism, Lyner, Rafay
Lyner (3): Duderonomy, Electric Mango, Robert2424

And if we use Dude's and R2V's favorite argument then you, Rafay, is guilty by last voting on Dude at the last moment, sealing the deal.

That said I want to hear from the rest of the town's opinion before making my decision

The other evidence we now have is who voted for town players, including myself. A side note, I think we may have counter a primed target by getting Dude. I think with his activity he was a target for n2.

now for the evidence as lyner pointed  out

Quote

Road2Victory (3): Commander Shepard, Duderonomy, Lyner
Duderonomy (3): Rafay, Road2Victory, Electric Mango
we know both of these players to be town.

Quote

Duderonomy (3): iSocialism, Lyner, Rafay
Lyner (3): Duderonomy, Electric Mango, Robert2424
also day 3 I may add.
We know one to be town.
We see Rafay voting for dude on d1, no retracted vote though him being close to a tie. Then the final vote on dude on d3.
Lyner is the final vote on d1, and has the second vote on d3.
CS voted on d1 for r2v and then fell off a mountain and hasn't been seen since.
Dude is town.
R2V is town
myself (isocialism) town.
EM last vote on d1, second vote on d2 for lyner.
Pretz - replacement and none-low evidence
Robert last vote for lyner on d3 and d1 a 1 vote on EM

I see a pattern, EM has always added his vote to tie things up. Not being the last one on the lynching train, but trying to get someone else to be.
for now, as I hope for my conversation and counters/debate.
VOTE EM

Duderonomy I am pretty sure we could get the arsonist this round if we convince the others that Lyner or Isocialism is one. I am little bit skeptic of Rafay as well and CS who haven't been participating much. I don't think robert2424 is arsonist since he defended Dude.

It sure would be nice if more people voted or at least said something. Im so tempted to change my vote to an inactive person out of spite and nothing else. If you sign up to play a game than play the game. Tis bad form to leave all of the other players hanging because youre too lazy to read and post. You commit to something or someone then stick to it otherwise youre wasting everyones time.

I don't even care if you vote me off as long as you post your reasons why.
