March 12, 201610 yr comment_834455 I know we have a lot of Americans here, probably also a bunch from South America. I'm curious of what's being said about the Zika virus at the other side of the world (others can also chime in of course)? I'm interested in this, because my girlfriend and I have a vacation planned in july to Costa Rica. We don't plan on getting pregnant in the near future, but as the virus is still pretty new and they don't know a lot/everything about it yet I want to learn some more about this virus (and not just from reading on the internet ). I don't know a lot about it but I know that in the last week, there was at least one confirmed case in my state. (The town it was confirmed in is about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs drive away, and I am pregnant) Maybe I should invest in some OFF! ... Staying indoors won't work, people around here play the revolving door game Report
March 12, 201610 yr comment_834511 As far as I know, it's like a regular flu, nothing too serious...Unless you're pregnant. The Virus seems to attack the proto-neurons of the fetus and kills off a good deal of them, hence why the reduced brain mass occurs. It's probably only a problem if you get it while you are pregnant. Blade probably knows a lot more Edited March 12, 201610 yr by ccabal86 Report
