May 12, 201610 yr comment_854965 An interesting article on London's new mayor Sadiq Khan: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/05/08/the-secret-life-of-sadiq-khan-london-s-first-muslim-mayor.html I have mixed feelings about the guy, we'll see how he fares. Not surprised he was elected over Zac Goldsmith, that man was plain awful. Report
May 12, 201610 yr comment_854966 I personally voted for him myself. Don't care about his religion. Majority of the people living in London came from the same similar background he Sadiq. Don't want a 'born-with-a-silver-spoon-in-his-mouth' mayor that doesn't understand nor hasn't experienced the struggles everyday Londoners have to go through. Report
May 12, 201610 yr comment_854973 Another labour lefty who is more interested in minority of Londoners then the real Londoners. they all say what they need to say to get elected, but he's already saying he want to spend their money on flying to America to check how a real mayor does their job, surely a email would suffice Report
May 13, 201610 yr comment_855003 Too much drama over the fact he's Muslim in my opinion. Even if he was a member of ISIS, the taliban and Boko Haram at the same time, he's still not as bad as Boris Johnson. Report
May 13, 201610 yr comment_855181 heared this was the biggest win in % since a long time, true? Report
May 15, 201610 yr comment_855742 heared this was the biggest win in % since a long time, true?Well we are talking for an office that has only had 5 elections, and it is the 2nd biggest. It is a little bit bigger than Johnson's 2008 win and livingstone's 2004 win, a little smaller than Livingstone's 2000 win. 2012 was a very marginal election and the outlier to date. Wow...looking back at the old results on wikipedia...so weird to see elections with the BNP actually getting votes. That is one pile of scum we are well rid of. Report
