First and foremost, hello - I'm Daz Bones, currently applying to become an IRON member, and I look forward to joining you soon.

Secondly, anyone interested in this year's EURO 2016? Not sure if everyone here's a football fan, but most of you should know about this year's European football competition. Well, it's already ongoing, but that doesn't change the excitement and tension it brings to me (and hopefully all of you). And, if you guys are following this year's EUROS, who are you supporting, and who do you think is going to win? I would love to hear your opinions.

Finally, I'll let in a little secret - this thread was probably created to get my post count up so I can graduate (that's if I'm admitted into IRON of course ).

Italy has the momentum from beating Spain

Meanwhile Spain hasn't been great this entire tournament, but sure Italy has 'momentum' from beating the former shadow of the squad that won EURO 2008, WC 2010 and EURO 2012. If anything, Germany has a lot more momentum. Believe me that it's more likely that Germany will beat Italy than Iceland upsetting France

It will be a very good match. If Italy comes out with the same tactics they did against Spain, they'll give Deustchland a run.

Nein

Si!

If this were the 2014 Deustchland squad, I'd say Italy was doomed. However, this Deustchland squad can be beaten.

The same was true for the 2014 squad. It could just as well have been bitten and not won. But hope dies last, so... Deutschland immer vorwärts!

excellent, now that is done we can finally stop pretending we can win stuff

grats to glyndwr!

Bye Belgium

I'm rooting for either Iceland or Wales. Make 2016 the fairy tale year in football

Ditto

Italy or France for me, the other one man team is not so good at the moment, I would have supported Wales as the home nation side then I saw the way they celebrated England going out and now they deserve no English support.

With the way they play, also so much better than the English squad, they really do not need your support mate

:-p

Weeeeeeeeeeeee, Germany won... although dear Lord what a number of spectacularly bad run of free kicks >.<

Germany or Iceland would do nicely

Yeah I know! Did you see Darmian?? Like why would you lace a penalty like that and also use hardly any power?? He cost Italy the shootout when they were about to win as well...

With Hector's winning penalty, the only reason why Buffon didn't save it was because of his age literally. He's just simply a bit too old now, in his earlier days he would have parried that penalty with ease.

Honestly. I don't think it was his age (on any given day he is still better than a great deal of far younger goalkeepers. It seemed rather that he was expecting either a slightly higher or a tad longer shot, he would have stopped either. As it was though...

No regrets over the game, even had Italy won. They played well and deserved to win as much as Germany did.

Buffon anticipated that that penalty would have been kicked a lot higher, because every other time he tried to stop one he was pretty close to the ground

Very well done France!

*queue gloating against Theo*

Congrats Friff, I really hoped that Ronaldo would finally win a tournament with the national squad. Although it wasn't pretty how they did it, in the end it all doesn't matter. France was unable to crack Portugal in 120 min, so why would they have deserved it more? Especially here in the Netherlands a lot of people are discrediting Portugal's performance this EURO, but it's Portugal that has the last laugh. Even during the award ceremony they were talking about how Dutch football should never turn to be like this, bla bla bla. I mean FFS man, they just won the tournament, yet you still want to talk their performance down, please....

It's like Floyd Mayweather in boxing, it's not a very exciting way to win and as such doesn't make a good fight/ game for spectators. Defensive play works, but it's dull.

Good for Portugal, but they were lucky to get into the knockout round with the new format, and they clearly came through the weaker portion of the bracket.

That said, you have to win the games, which Les Bleus failed to do.

Football really needs some kind of referee review system after seeing that handball decision. Or more honest players.

Friff wins EURO, Ronaldo only halfly, poor guy

Yet I don't care about soccer nor watched any of the matches, I just wanted an excuse to post

get more excuses.
