My first impression: Cringe worthy. I'll probably watch it eventually just to know the story, but it looks like they're going to butcher it by redesigning major elements. Hollywood is such garbage these days.

They should have made that movie several games ago. AC story wise has been declining after AC3. Hollywood just made it more Hollywood so the bad things stick out more. If they had the patience to explain everything like they did in the first couple of games, I'm sure the movie/trailer would have been a lot better. Everything in this trailer seems rushed to me, too scripted. To me the beauty of the AC games has always been that the main character was clueless as to what was going on. You had to learn from history that had already passed and relive it as your ancestor. However such build up and slow improvement doesn't fit a 120 min movie. It's basically a AC 'themed' movie, nothing more.

Also personal bias: I don't like the actrice that plays the female doctor (?), the one that played in Inception and Batman. Fassbender though to me sounds like a good cast, but will have to see the movie to make a real judgement.

If it does well in theaters (unlikely since most movies based off a videogame often flop. Max Payne, Prince of Persia, Doom, and Warcraft to name a few), it could get a sequel. The problem is you would have to go into making the first movie knowing you will be making more. That way you won't cram too much into the first one and subsequently ruin it. I get the fact they want to explain the origin but that could take up 1/4-1/3 of the movie. That leaves us with probably around an hour and a half of actual time spent showing us the new story of the Spanish Inquisition. Sure it can be done but I have a feeling it its going to be a barebones/borderline uninteresting plot that will feel rushed. I fear the movie will focus on shiny CGI action in an attempt to make up for its lack of content given its short run time.

Ive always felt video games turning into movies has been a horrible idea all the way around. The closest I've seen that was somewhat bearable was MK, and thats pushing it to me.

Video games would make a great show series, however. I always wonder why we don't see things like God of War or Halo or Assassin Creed, or even those already tried like Resident Evil/Warcraft pushed as a TV series instead of a movie.

I would much rather watch a TV series based on games I love than watch a movie butcher them

Really crap movie imo. No real plot, as you might expect from a movie based on a computer game.

Strongly agree with that last bit lol Yehom. I really don't like that actress either. Couldn't put my finger on why, I just really, really don't like her.

Has it? I actually liked AC4, though it was quite different. It added some back story to Connor and made his story make more sense, though it could have been a bit better on certain details.

I really liked Rogue just for it's take from a Templar perspective. Also, the game play being completely reversed in role was something new and entertaining. Shay Cormack's transformation I feel was bit a bit rushed through at certain parts, but overall, a pretty interesting character (could also just be that I rushed through the game itself).

As far as Unity, I haven't played it or even seen any trailers, so other than it being based in revolutionary France, I really have no idea what the story is. I'm still using an older console.

Was the "Animus" in the movie as stupid as I'm thinking it will be? Because it looks dumb as shit. I get they didn't want to seem like the Matrix, but that... Thing.... Is not an Animus.

Yeah I agree with FF,

AC4 was worth it imo.

Unity not much, storywise was a little bland, but RPG & Multiplayer wise it made for a really great game

MVP(Mod’s Choice)= Master Samus; I think Master Samus played amazingly for a guy who claims it was his second only mafia game. He never led the town on him and that’s why he deserves this award. He was impressive in manipulating the town that led to the ultimate mafia victory.

Player of Mafia; Master Samus/emudevelopment (shared); I think both were instrumental in the town’s defeat. Both were manipulative and deceptive. They clearly came out as pro-town and looked like de-facto town leaders. They led the lynch wagon w/o anyone uncovering their true motives.

Samus, you should be proud that you've helped make an environment where people feel safe enough to share their experiences.

Exactly! It's the difference between the properties of the two mediums I think. What works well in video games works horribly in the theater, because you simply cannot recapture that special narrative you have in games on the big screen. A TV series would work better, because episodes would mirror the "gaming sessions" we all do much better and each "adventure" could further the grand plot a little more while leaving time to develop it smoothly.

What a horrible movie. I've played the game for sometime, so had some idea, but, really, I felt it was meh. The pacing of the movie was wierd.

The wall was a better movie, script seemed cheesy, felt it was a poor translation job. But the movie itself was entertaining.

I just didn't see the potential for the movie to be good at all, so I'm glad I never wasted my time. There's very few movie-game relationships that meshed well. Silent Hill wasn't bad, Resident Evil being among the top. Thanks for the input!

I thought it was decent but the pacing was terrible. They butchered a lot of things in this film, included unnecessary explanations, and fell short on connecting to the general audience.
