Surprisingly this topic has yet to make it to the IRON Forums. It's making headlines everywhere as the biggest FIGHTING event in history. With a MMA fighter meeting a Profesional Boxer on his turf. There's been a ton of debate and banter over the odds of the outcome of this fight. And I know we have some UFC/Fight fans in IRON so I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Even if you have no idea about the MMA/Boxing world I'd like to hear your opinion!

Personally I'm torn. In the beginning when the idea was brewing I immediately thought "that's a joke, mayweather is a pro and would school Conor in a boxing ring". Most everyone had this thought and a lot of people still do. Conor is really going out of his element in this event. Now a lot of people despise McGregor because of his cockiness and bigger than life attitude, but I'm actually a fan of him. He backs up what he talks.

As I thought a little more about the fight, I'm leaning towards Conor a bit. Mayweather has been retired for a while, hasn't been in the ring fighting, hasn't knocked out anyone in years. Conor on the other hand is on a hot streak. He's been on his game in the UFC taking the Championship belt in two different weight classes. And he's been training nothing but boxing ever since the Mayweather dilemma came up.

Conor has the knockout power. But Floyd is a professional at what he does. 49-0 speaks for itself. And my official prediction is that Mayweather will win by decision and points, as always. I would love to see Conor knock him out cold, but we all know this is highly unlikely.

Mayweather gonna school him lmao. Strongly doubt he'll get the KO. I think in an all out fight Connor will take him easy, but this is boxing, Connor won't be able to touch him at all lol

But I agree, if Manny Pac couldn't do it I highly doubt that someone with 0 times in a boxing ring could do it.

But this is the fight world, and if it's one thing I've seen, anything is possible.

as much as I hate mayweather, and want connor to murder him, I just dont think he has a real change.  mayweather is one of the best boxers ever, and mcgreagor well, he isnt a boxer. that would be like saying mike trout would be an epic cricket player because its kinda similar.  

the only mma fighter that would have a chance imo is Anderson Silva in his prime

But also consider this: Nate Diaz was a fantastic boxer. One of the best in UFC and Conor was out-striking him in their 2nd fight.

Also, Mayweather has always had trouble with Southpaw opponents. And Conor knows that.

I'm not saying I've changed my mind, but I do believe he has a small chance. Anything could happen.

Diaz may have been fantastic for an MMA fighter.  Mayweather is one of the greatest of all time though.

When I built my desktop, to save a few bucks i didnt include a wifi adapter since it was close enough to the Ethernet cable lol and unfortunately the cable does not reach my tv so streaming isnt an option

I agree that a fixed fight is possible. But part of me wants to believe that Conor wouldn't buy into that bullshit.

Mayweather is a bitch though. He asked Conor to bet all of his fight winnings on their fight. He's all about his money and he loves to think he's the greatest boxer of all time.

Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfield, Joe Frazier, George Foreman. These are some of the greatest boxers because they actually fight. Mayweather turned boxing into a strategic point-frenzy. Less swinging and fighting and more running and hitting.

also have to take into consideration, those boxers are all heavy weights, there is no "point decision" someone always gets KO'd
