Seems more like congress needs to step in and actually legislate, pendulum court rulings happen when they got nothing directly to go from.

 

Also don't make the "it's out there anyway, let it be free" argument, thats just stupid.

Things don't work the same here. Agreed that "Congress needs to step in and actually legislate", but they cannot pass any legislation that will infringe on the Constitutional right to bear arms, or the Constitutional right to freedom of speech. Anything they do that hits in those areas with be shot down by the Supremes, and the DOJ knows this... that's why they killed the prohibition to begin with.

 

The states need to revisit their own laws, enforce education on firearms, and crack down with severe punishment when firearms are used to commit crimes. That's Constitutional. This would create an open and knowing environment in all states that the proper use of firearms is fine... but if you use them the wrong way, the results will end with the most uncomfortable existence in a very short life.

Still would require Congress to "broaden" the rules and regulations to also include these weapons then. I would work them into the present legal framework, something that still needs to be done no?
