The differance between IRON and some rag tag alliance is the fact that we will fight with no reguard to our own nations. Putting the greater good of the whole before ourselves. Victory for all or they will have to fight us to the last point of infa in the last IRON nation. Every so often someone(s) will come around and exemplifie this. Living up to the IRON Values. It gives me great pleaser to baptize three of IRON's up and comers.

LordSunday, you have been Baptized in Fire and Blood and Emerged as IRON!

Sm had said that meth kills people fast, so isn't that a self regulatory?

People do drugs, and smoke because they choose to, they know the dangers.
For example, i know that fast food is bad for me, but I still eat it.
I know that i have a genetic risk for CV issues, but i still eat the "unhealthy" stuff, because i choose to.

If all the things that are harmful are to be banned, then you are basically banning the human life.
Sex is bad as it can lead to birth related complications, so we are to ban that?
Television leads to vision damage, are we banning it?
Cars are the one of the most dangerous things ever made, but i still don't care.

This isn't about the bad effects, it's about human choice and the skill of humans to be self conscious.

Restrictions never lead to resolutions.
They create more conflict.
Human nature seeks out conflict, to achieve their ends.

If meth is say legalized, the people who use it will then die off at a faster rate.
Humans are also programmed to survive, so they will learn from the deaths.
Personal experience is better than advisories.
Sure, i may sound like Thanos, but you know that this is true.

The very nature of humans, or you can say any neurally developed organisms, desire aunbridled life

As someone who doesn't use marijuana but has been in the industry in Washington State since it became recreationally legal almost 4 years ago, I can state with some authority on the subject that it has had an overwhelmingly positive impact. Not only did crime rates drop after legalization but the economic impact has been huge. Washington state alone sales over 1 bilion dollars worth of marijuana a year (close to 1.5billion now I believe). 37% is taken as marijuana taxes, 6.5% is state sales tax, and another 4% or so goes to local municipalities tax. It has also had the added benefit of increasing education of the plant and its various cannabinoids.

I had a chuckle when I saw this:

No...not pot users with the munchies.  In the words of one Dr. Dennis Leary "What was wrong with pot?  You smoke a joint, eat a twinkie and go to bed."

That's one smart little girl.

ALL drugs? I feel like if heroine and meth were legal the next generation would have a lot of brain disorders and the addict population would skyrocket. As well as the crime rate because junkies will do anything for that next high.

On the other hand, i think if we were to research some of the non-lethal drugs more (marijuana, LSD, mushrooms, ecstasy, etc.) then there’s definitely improvements to be made to a nation that would legalize them.

I second the motion :)

All that tax revenue... all those criminal gangs put out of business. Winning.

I would like to bring to your attention:
Portugal

An excellent example.

thats also like saying gun control in the US will make our crime rates like the UK... Chicago has probably the strictest gun control in the entire country and the highest murder and crime rate in the country... so just because one country had success does not mean it will translate into our country.  our social structure is much much different

FALSE

Sorry I forgot to carry the multi quote across the page, but Lysis and Lorikz both make excellent points using real world examples.

People (of all countries including the USA) are inherently opposed to rapid change. A change in drug attitudes of "Yay" (60's) to "fucking boo" (70's-10'), to now "hey, maybe this war on drugs shit isn't actually helping anyone apart from people that sell guns and we should do something about that?" is quite a pendulum swing in progress.

Personally I am looking forward to seeing the Canadian data over the next 10-20 years and see how it compares. The most compelling reason for legalising all substances of abuse IMO is that they can be regulated, and the tax revenue (which initially would be HUGE) could be put into solving many of the social crises the war on drugs has created.
Note: Chicago shootings are down 31% in comparison to 2 years ago (October YTD data). Something they are doing is working well.

I stand by my first post. Decriminalization is a win for both individuals and for society in most ways. I remember reading somewhere that Marlboro copyrighted (not sure if that’s a word) the brands Colombian Gold and Mexican Red back in the 60s or 70s. Could be urban legend. I’m too lazy to check.

Well it wouldn't be Marlboro, it would be Philip Morris International, but I wouldn't be at all shocked. These people will trademark anything well in advance just in case it has a chance to make serious money in the future.
