Conflicted is a game which consists of multiple decks, each deck containing 52 cards, and on each card is a question. The setting is in an environment where some catastrophic event has occurred. Could be nuclear war, World War III, horrible disease, economic collapse, but regardless of the scenario, no form of government really exists or if it does it is unable to help you. No calling 911, no cell phones, no internet. Its just yourself, maybe friends and family, and possibly a small group of people who can help you. Not necessarily Mad Max/Post Apocalyptic, but cohesive civilization with modern technology at our fingertips is essentially over.

Every week I will post one of the cards (selected at random), and each participant writes a response to what they would do in that situation or how they might handle it. I will let the thread run for one week, and then post a new question. Post as much as you like after giving your response. Debating and analyzing is part of the game! I won't be playing as I am the one running the game.

There are no right or wrong answers as the game is about hearing how people could navigate a stressful or perilous situation.

Deck 1 - Downfall: Eight of Diamonds

After hunting for game in the wilderness, two of your friends were bitten by the same kind of venomous snake. You are the only one unharmed and you have one vial of anti-venom antidote. Both of your friends have lost consciousness and they have their kids and wives waiting for their return, but you can save only one of them. A full dose of the antidote is needed in order to save a life, anything less would be just a waste. What criteria would you use to save one of them and why?

"Sounds like we're in a dangerous place... sounds like I need to hold on to that anti-venom while I go get help." - some really clever person who I can't seem to remember

 

A nice moral dilemma, I guess under that stressful situation what I would do is inject the person who is more essential to survival for everyone with the antivenom (a person with certain skills or knowledge) and desperately rush over to the other person trying to suck the venom out of their wound, but I guess if they have already lost consciousness it might be too late

It is to late to save either. Hold on to the serum for someone that might need it later.

Loss of consciousness means the venom has already reach critical organs and have damaged them beyond a primitive medical procedure to save them.
