Conflicted is a game which consists of multiple decks, each deck containing 52 cards, and on each card is a question. The setting is in an environment where some catastrophic event has occurred. Could be nuclear war, World War III, horrible disease, economic collapse, but regardless of the scenario, no form of government really exists or if it does it is unable to help you. No calling 911, no cell phones, no internet. Its just yourself, maybe friends and family, and possibly a small group of people who can help you. Not necessarily Mad Max/Post Apocalyptic, but cohesive civilization with modern technology at our fingertips is essentially over.

Every week I will post one of the cards (selected at random), and each participant writes a response to what they would do in that situation or how they might handle it. I will let the thread run for one week, and then post a new question. Post as much as you like after giving your response. Debating and analyzing is part of the game! I won't be playing as I am the one running the game.

There are no right or wrong answers as the game is about hearing how people could navigate a stressful or perilous situation.

Deck 2 - Survival Scenarios: Seven of Hearts

Two members of your team are dying. The first person will die no matter what medical intervention you provide, but the second can be saved by surgery. Your friend has medical expertise but is confused on a few steps of the proposed procedure. If they are able to practice the surgical procedure on the first person (that is dying), it would drastically improve your chances of saving the second person. The group is at odds because the first person is not coherent enough to give you any input. As the leader of your group, how would you proceed, and what decision would you make?

The idea of war is not to die for your country, it's to make the enemy die for his.

The most humaine thing to do is attempt to get person; but in the end; life and error is merely important. Honestly on this I would allow them to perform; if the other person is not going to make it; why not practice to save another individual.  Who does not say that the person we are saving is not a person who has the skills or abilities needed for something that is coming up.  Without those skills then we wouldnt have a clue to do. Sometimes the unthinkable has to be done. I would expect the same if it was me lying there; knowing I could be saving someone else.

It basically triage with a twist. Practice the procedure on the one not going to make it.
