Did you like this poll???

I liked this poll... it's fun, but isn't it strange that we must look all the way back to the 70's to find the best drummers?

I believe that the only way to gauge a measurement of art such as those of classic rock. It has to have a lot of time to be studied. So it's easier to pick from that group as they have a larger influence as a whole on modern music. But, this was only a classic rock poll. I'll make more polls too if I get a good response.
Seems strange to have Phil Collins on the list but not Ginger Baker, or Hal Blaine. I'd put Dave Grohl on this list before I'd even think of mentioning Phil

Nice to see you here Fox. I agree that the list is a little light. Many greats are not included. My personal favorite is Prairie Prince.

Do you have any highlights from your favorite that you'd like to share with the class?
A short, and pretty much dead on introduction to Prairie Prince.

I actually enjoyed his drumming and learned quite a lot about him stylistically and historically. I was only aware of Steve Smith being in Journey.
Music was my first love in my entire life, so I really appreciate the discussion. Some may wonder how John Bonham could make it on your list, but it would take a drummer, or an educated musician, to know that all you need to do is challenge any doubters to copy it. If you're going for just shear talent... you have to go with Peart, and the man also had mad lyric skills.
Prairie Prince is my favorite drummer because of the music he created, as well as the people he has worked with.
Goes a long way with me.

What do coffee and Ginger Baker have in common? They both suck without Cream.
