What?

Canadian Politics?

BORING!

Did one of your politicians forget to say "I'm sorry" or something?

Not quite.

This is an election no one wanted.  Currently, it sits at over 75% of the electorate who thinks this election is completely unnecessary.

This election was called by to suit the ego of just one man, and his desire to have a majority.  Just because he doesn't like being held accountable.

I'm one of those 75%.

That man is Trudeau.  Or as I have taken to calling him Trumpdeau.

Still remember when the Orange Demagogue got elected, some of you Americans were chanting in the streets "Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho. We wish our leader was Trudeau."  I'm looking at you Sister Midnight.

Six years on, he's shown his tendencies.

In 2015 he dismissed two Liberal MPs, one of which I know and call a friend.  Hell. if it wasn't for me, he wouldn't have passed English 1202.  Yet, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9faQ2ed5Qo

(The MP in question has since stood down.)

Trumpdeau has shown his contempt for Parliament by suing the Speaker of the House. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/rex-murphy-trudeau-liberals-taking-house-speaker-to-court-another-arrogant-attack-on-parliament

There are many, many more scandals.  I can document them.

It's been an absolute pleasure watching this moron who decided to drop a Writ of Election when he was riding high in the polls.  Just to watch him melt down. https://newsinteractives.cbc.ca/elections/poll-tracker/canada/

Christ, they didn't even have a platform or a policy before they launched an election.

I watched the Leader's Debate last night.  Mr.O'Toole, Mr. Singh, and Ms. Paul  did really well.  I liked a lot of the points they made.

Trudeau, I turned it off when he started to blame Harper.  Not before I saw Mr. O'Toole say "You blame Harper.  You've been in power for six years.  Yet, you blame everyone, except for yourself."

Always weird when a sitting elected official can trigger a "redo" on an election regardless of circumstances. If the sole reason is "the polls are great now", you should be barred from entering your own snap election...

Not to much of Trudeau's scandals pass over the pond, thou from stories that do he just seems to be an average sleazy politician who ignores half his campaign when in power and butchers the other part :D

I can't disagree with that.  Back 20 years ago when I was in University, I lived with a fellow from India.  He was shocked to hear that it was up to the governing party to decide when to call an election.   He told me that in India, it was up to the Opposition.  I stand to be corrected on that point.

As far as I'm concerned,  I'd rather switch to a fixed election date, unless the government manages to lose the confidence of the House.  Placing the power to call an election in the hands of the governing Prime Minister (who is the leader of the Party), is an affront to the democratic process.

In case you're curious: https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/a-short-history-of-justin-trudeaus-scandal-plagued-liberal-government

These are some of the issues that are driving the election: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-58426147

I had to chuckle at the last paragraph, 16 000 000 pencils were ordered by Elections Canada.

As you can see, the biggest issue for votes is Cost of Living.  Yet, Sparkles McSocks, "doesn't think about monetary policy"

Hello my fellow Canuck.

As much as it pains me to say it.  Not likely.  We'll still end up with Trumpdeau.  At least we can be happy that he'll only get a minority.  Maybe, just maybe, given his poor performance, against the relatively unknown O'Toole, he'll face a leadership review and the Liberal Party will dump him.  Just like they did with Chretien.
