This might be a long game.

Checking in! A long game indeed.

Oooh, this is gonna be fun.

Obviously, I suspect Captain.  His post was kinda suss.

Wait, how is this possible for a townie win?   Even if we kill a mafia with the vote, they get to kill one of us at night.   Then it's a 50/50 by day 2 and we automatically lose?

Reading the rules explains the rules

Mango 1st game back..i can see Kevin making him mafia for old time sake

Bryan, you think Kevin would do something like that?   Uh uh, no way pal.   Kevin's too much of a professional and hearing you say that puts a huge target on your back.   I'll be keeping my eye on you bub.

Also Captain, you posted a link that goes to nowhere.  Why you trying to waste my time eh?  Suss again.  That's strike two for you, ya little scamp.

Yeah, that link is a little sus indeed. All I did was try and quote you! Also, if we use reverse psychology, if Kevin wouldn't make Electric Mango a mafia for old time sake, wouldn't Kevin had made Electric mafia for old time sake??!?!

criss cross applesauce, your move.

Ah the old wine in front of me argument I see.  Ok, ok.  Meanwhile as we blindly argue, Imran continues to lurk from the shadows.   Not very townie like behavior if you ask me.

Roles were assigned at random. Trust me, I play mafia.

Ha!  Told ya so

Imran, you there?

If we vote and a person ends up being townie, they doesnt get voted out right? " one-shot compulsive dayvig" not sure what that last word is

Day vig is a day time vigilante.  You mafia guys should know what our roles can do as well as your own, ya know.

Bryan is totally mafia btw.

Boy I'd be really scared if I was mafia as well.   Can't hope to kill one of us with a day vote.  Even if we are voted off Day 1 we get to come back and get your butts with a vigilante kill.   The odds of that kill are at 66% of hitting scum or more, if you figure in your sleuthing skills.   Plus that vigilante is untouchable when it comes to Day 2 voting.  I mean, the guys a bonifed townie at that point.

So that means it's gonna come down to finger pointing between the other townie and mafia member with the deciding vote being cast by the dayvig.

The vig of the day holds all the sway I would say.   I hope its ok that I dare do say, and without further delay.......

sorry sorry...didnt know the ppl had woken up from slumber already. I am here. So whats going on...I see EM causing drama already by self lynching.

Anyway, i need to read through the mechanichs of this game before posting my thoughts..will do so shortly

So I am a bit confused. So theres no night? so scum dont get any night-kills right? Or do they get to kill someone after D1 lynch?

Thats an interesting move.  If you are town you dont die but get dayvig also. If you are scum, you obviously dont want to get lynched as you will die and will need to confirm one person as Town. So scum assuredly wouldnt want to get lynched D1, which probably means EM is town. Now the question is whether we want to leave it up to him to shoot correctly on D2, becuase if he doesnt make the right choice, scum will win.

On the other hand, lynching scum on D1 seems like a better option, with one confirmed town on D2. However, I am not too clear on this part, if scum has night kill, twhy wont they just kill the confirmed town on N1?

Scum does not get a night kill.

"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine." ~ Ben Franklin

Let me step in to explain that it's "fair".

The first lynch is basically selecting a townie to kill somebody else or reducing the game to a named townie making a 50/50 choice to win or lose the game.

The mafia with 2 votes has a bit of influence ... they can try to kill one of their own and get to the 50/50 choice or play it out with a day-vig.

If the selected person is town, then they indeed have a 2/3 chance of hitting mafia with the day-vig shot but if a mafia is killed it's down to a 50/50 choice for the next lynch.

If the day-vig is unlucky and kills the other townie the the mafia win immediately

There are no investigations or other certain information so it all boils down to a couple of guesses; those that believe in "scum-hunting" by interpreting posts would disagree.

Ok no night kills for scum makes it clear. Let's see the scenarios (i found Kevin's clarification a bit confusing on a couple of points...so working it out on my own way)

1. Scenario 1 - Scum is lynched. 1 scum left and 2 townie left...out of whom 1 is confirmed town. So 50/50 chance of lynching 2nd scum. If townie is lynched,

scum wins.

2. Scenario 2 - Townie is lynched. Townie doesn't die, 2 town 2 scum left. Townie dayvigs. If he hits scum, 2 town left of whom 1 is confirmed and 1 scum left. 50/50 chance of lynching 2nd scum to win.

If day vig hits town, 1 townie left and 2 scum left. The scums gang up to lynch confirmed townie and wins.

So if we lynch EM and assume he is town, that doesn't really increase the odds of town winning. At best it will be down to 50/50 and at worst scum will win outright if EM misfires.

Thanks for the clarification Kevin and Imran. Am I wrong with the math thinking that Scenario 1 gives town the best odds at finding the scum? It's only a 50/50 shot as mentioned, but scenario 2 seems a lot more random...
