Thought I'd make a new topic discussing the PS3.

In Canada, the PS3 price has been cut to $299.99.
PS3 slim is out too for $299.99

I think I'll get the PS3 Slim in a couple of years when I buy a new Sony TV.
PS3 Slim has a Bravia sync.

Probably will trade in CoD:WaW for the new CoD:MW2

fallout3 = best RPG (IMO), it's the only RPG I've ever liked

I have Fallout 3 for the Xbox and I agree, it is the best RPG I have ever played.

I have NHL 09 on the 360 and play it constantly. I have played the demo for 10 and the first person fighting is awesome.

I play NHL09 all the time. I love the BAP mode. I'm in my 6th year as a Playmaker Centre with rating of 89.

True its great, I have not touched my Right Wing in a while but I'm pretty sure he is like an 86. The only thing thats annoying is how the coach yells at you for simming like 2 games.

I don't sim. I play all the games. But the coach is stupid. I lead the league in points (120pts vs 45pts) and the team has a record of 42-2-1 (half the season). I get demoted cuz I don't get a point in a game that we won. Or demoted for losing 1 game out of every 20 wins. Stupid.

If you really want to now would be the best time for it. Their cutting the price for them shortly by about $100 USD because of the release of the ps3 slim. Don't know how long they'll keep producing the old ones though once the slim come out though and from what I've heard the slim wont have a price cut so if you go for it, don't waste to much time.

As far as I know...they are not making the old style PS3 anymore (ie. 80GB and 160GB).
They will be making the PS3 Slim (120GB) now only.
PS3 Slim = $299.99 (in Canada)...my uncle just bought one at FutureShop.

Over half a million PS3 slims sold last week according to VGChartz preliminary data

In what is probably the most successful console re-launch in history, over half a million PS3 "slims" were sold last week worldwide according to our preliminary data - this represents over a 400% increase week on week (and a number of retailers in the US had already started selling the new model PS3 last week).

In Europe, some regions saw as much as a tenfold increase in PS3 sales (admittedly, sales had been low the previous week as consumers anticipated the new model launch) - around 250,000 units were sold in "other regions" (Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia etc) according to our preliminary data. In Japan, reports have already been independently confirmed from Famitsu magazine of over 150,000 units sold - twice as much as the previous best week for PS3. Sales in Americas also saw a large increase, over 125,000 units according to preliminary data (although this could be higher as more info comes in).

PS3 software also saw significant increases - many PS3 versions of multi-platform titles comfortably outselling their 360 counterparts this week. The big question will be how long can this bump be sustained for - we expect a fair dropoff next week but PS3 should remain ahead of 360 and Wii for most of September if not longer than that.

Stay tuned for more data as it comes in... and please note that this data is still preliminary at this stage. We can say with a fair amount of certainty that between 500,000 and 600,000 units were sold but will not know the exact figure until all of the finalised data is in.

I couldn't really get into Metal Gear Solid 4.

I enjoyed Grand Theft Auto (although Vice City is still my favorite by far).

I really like Fallout 3. Seriously, if you don't buy it, at least go to Blockbuster and rent it.... you'll probably end up buying it.
The best way I can describe it is a cross between Oblivion (RPG and immersion) and Bioshock (moral and value choices shaping your character and environment). Its also a good shoot 'em up with lots of depth.
