I see alot of interesting names of IRON members and often wonder the story behind the name. Tell us how you came up with your Rulers name.

 

I came up with my ruler's name like this . My real name is Mike and the 1587 was my employee ID number years ago when I worked in a local steelmill hence MIKE1587.

Err Derenna was the name of my warlock from when I played WoW and I got it by hitting the random name Generator when making the toon so I kinda liked it and stayed with it for the other games I played... and way easier to remember one name for a bunch of games then a bunch of names for a bunch of games

My name is StockHunter because I day trade forex for a living but I started by trading stocks. I also like to hunt, so I combined stock with hunter .

The name I use on most other games was already taken (Hollowpoint). Schmoo was the first thing that came to mind, and I was too excited to get my nation going to put a lot of thought into it. Schmoo is a fertility/anatomy reference . You will also find Schmoo in Lil' Abner comics, it is a fertility reference there as well.

Contrary to popular thought, Syd the Viscious is not a reference to Sid Vicious the former Sex Pistols bassist. Rather, it is nod to Syd Millar, the Ireland prop who won 9 caps as a British Lions player, and coached the Lions in their 1974 unbeaten tour to South Africa. The "Viscious" (misspelled in my haste to create a nation) is in reference to his "99 Call" during that tour whereby the entire Lions team would, at once, violently retaliate against the perceived thuggery of the 'boks under the theory that the referee could not send off the entire team. A brilliant strategy for the time that could only have come from the mind of a forward.

My name is also a word, in my native language, thought to small children specifically to avoid learning them any words that may be perceived as vulgar or offensive.

There is a similar word in english: weenie.

Well, Johnathan is my real first name. Chaos was taken during a rather turbulent time in my personal life. I began using the screen name ChaosOftheSoul but it evolved into Johnathan Chaos shortly before I started my CN nation.

 

As for my nation, Athanos...my dad called me Athan (pronounced like Nathan without the 'N') due to his being John, my lil brother being John Jr. (called Johnny) and my being Johnathan. Add an 'os' and it sounded like a place lol.

Mine was born of lazyness. There used to be a random phrase generator and took two random words and stuck them together, and whenever I needed a new nick for something I'd just use it. Random Hero was one that came up. The website went down a few years back and rather be creative or anything I've just stuck with the 2 nicks I still remembered. Originally wanted to use Halfeclipse for here but some jerk ass had already took it, so I switched to Random Hero, someone had got that one and another had took RandomHero so I threw in the zeros.

 

Got my revenge in the UJW though. One had joined GOONS and another TOOL. Offered 3 million to whoever ZIed the TOOL guy and spent two rounds smacking the GOONS nation around

Well Lelouch is character is an anime I like and the Slayer part is nod to my favorite tv show Buffy The Vampire Slayer. As for my nation name, Techonotobia, its the city that the heroes protected in a show called Chodenshi Bioman.

My nation name comes from Aristotle's Rhetoric.

Serinox...well. Serinox is the name of a Dragon in Warcraft 3 and also the name of my rogue on blade's edge of WoW.

I've had the nickname Phish since about the 5th grade so I use it for a lot of things and I got the nickname when one of my friends said fish instead of my name and I responded, and a couple of months later explaining the name to someone we decided to change the spelling to phish

Hmm well I hit a random name generater button on WoW a few years back, I changed some of the letters and got lorikz, as for the last name of Kain, There was a lock friend with that name so I incorporated them both and like the sound of it. I use Lorikz as my char name on everything i do, Haven't come across anyone else using it before.

For mine, back in...2003 I think, I joined NBA.com with a couple friends of mine to do the virtual gm thing they had. Not being able to think of a name, I just picked something random (berserk). I ended up winning that league, so I then started to use the name vgmmaster with the vgm standing for virtual general manager.

Soon after i started paintballing i got a new email address and thats what i came up with and i use it for most forums and games and such
