In any case, I am sticking with my assumption that the Vig killed Rafay and the scum targetted Samoos. I dont see why any older players will target him. So that leaves the nooby players and specifically those who dont know much about the IRON guys playing this game. My theory is they targetted the one they know..and we can all say Samoos is pretty notorious over CN. Therefore, I would say there is a scum is one of the 2 new FTW guys who are playing their first game here.

Let's start here and begin with your post. The reason why I'm doing this is because, you're right, the more I argue with you about nothing the more I look like a scum. Not for anything I say, nor for muddling myself with such a useless argument, or the fact that real life can excuse me for "lurking", or that you do suck for not liking poetry, but because your original theory lines up squarely with some suspicions I've been having recently.

 

I am lost to you Imram, so don't take this post so personally. I am swatting the fly away...

 

 

Without further ado

 

 

It has been a difficult and stressful game, it seems.

I still am not very convinced R2V is scum. He did vote 'just to bandwagon', and responded to Robert with an OMGUS vote, but I kinda feel like these are innocent mistakes.

Are there any other reasons to suspect R2V that I'm missing?

 

Why so defensive? I mean, provided you read all the posts up to this point, these are sometimes clear indicators. Even if we get past these blatant qualities, why the rage quit? Why the pressure for pity? I think R2V flew too close to the sun, lashed back to defend himself, and Big Ego tried damage control without seeming either too sterile or too invested. At least, my interpretation of events.

 

 

Reading TBR's list, and re-reading the thread, this is my opinion on things

Top Suspects

Spaztik Muffin - Eager bandwagoner who seems to do nothing else.

Imran - Tries hard to sell the "it must've been a new player point", a great set-up opportunity with EM, not Imran, being the first to mention it. EM may have done it intentionally to set up an alley-oop, or may have just been making a random observation. Hard to tell.

Middle Suspects

Killgor, iSocialism, Lyner, EM, Ovid

All of these have acted somewhat suspiciously, supporting lynching even if it's a random person on day 1 or a new person on day 2. Either way seems like a good way to kill a townie. Altho, I am new to a game and not a math whiz. I must admit, but common-sense screams not to random lynch when a majority are townies, making your odds of picking scum low.

That is why I quickly changed my vote to No Lynch in Day 1, once I realized this.

Somewhere Between Middle & Bottom

KevinH - mainly because everyone says to fear him, so even tho he appears very townie, apparently he's a very good actor

Road2Victory - Kinda random and confusing, not sure what to think about R2V yet

Bottom Suspects

TBR - Well thought out posts that make a lot of sense to me, seems to be really trying to uncover scum.

Robert - A little random maybe, but he seems very un-eager to lynch someone who might be a townie.

 

I think this list is a deeper intimation of loyalties than a simple allusion to suspicions.

 

Let us recall the presumed favoritism of Big Ego with R2V. As a risk evaluation, we might have made this list at this point considering it would have been best to put "baited" assumptions (that is to say people I want people to immediately suspect I will put at the bottom of the list. I will also place here, those people whom if I do not claim not to suspect, people might be suspect of me).

 

At the top of the list can in turn go those people I want suspect, or those people I want others to double take about. But the middle...not too hot, not too cold, people are concerned with extremes so it's likely middles will be buried in indifference. I'm not saying all list makers follow this methodology, obviously after mentioning this, the meta has changed, but this is what I think, and the pieces seem to (loosely) support this thought experiment.

 

Also, why isn't EM on the list? A small detail accidentally forgotten? Or a telling one intentionally omitted?

Well, whatever. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to defend myself against these accusations. If I am lynched, I just hope there are enough townies left to avenge my death, because I assure you, I am not scum.

Imran's logic does make some sense, but a smart and ruthless scum could kill Master Master Master Master Master Master Samus knowing full-well they could play this "it must've been a new guy" card, and then get a new guy lynched, and surely it is rare for brand new players to actually be scum.

There may have been another "meta" leak. Not so much on Ego's case, but if Kazicore is a "vet." mafia player it could be likely that he would have thought this way. Maybe if Ego was smart enough, he would have been ready with this type of excuse. Either way, it just seems like "being avenged" would have sufficed. Why add in (the seemingly out of left field perspective) "oh btw, it would be weird to have newbies be scum anyways" line.

You don't see why any older players would target him? How about to throw people off the trail by using that exact story you just gave?

You claim voting patterns are worthless unless someone is lynched, like you can't derive ANY information without a complete lynch.. but of course now that Master Master Master Master Master Master Samus is dead it's oh so obvious, one of the new guys must've done it! Like it's really likely we'd be assigned that role..

 

Who said anything about him being dead? "You know what I mean"...Well actually, I know how that mistake could have been made. Yes, it would have been the mistake of a newbie and so there is not much weight in that regard. But I have a hunch as to how it came about, which leads me to another part to this theory of mine:

As for kevin's argument, that someone knows something. Thats just over-reliance on the cop. He is assuming the cop (if there is one) has some info pertaining to the alignment of a player and will vote accordingly. But no one knows who the cop is and the cop is not likely to reveal his results so early in the game (or he may even get killed in the night). So basically you just wasted one day's voting pattern Hoping someone has found some useful info. Other roles like trackers and watchers will also be useful only in the highly unlikely probability that they watched the victim that night etc.

 

We know by the two different results there is a murder, and a disappearance. Which lead us to believe that there were two different scum groups. However, if I recall correctly, the aliens could not directly interfere (according to the story) and instead created zombies to whip us out. So the zombies have to do with the aliens, but what about the murder? I bet if we were to perform an autopsy on the dead body we would find none other than Colonel mustard with gold rust underneath his nails from when he used the candle holder to kill marry poppins in the pantry after a night of vigorous coitus an alien.

 

Therefore, it is a highly likely that Master Master Master Master Samus' disappearance is in fact a "win" for the baddies, and the murder victim is a victory for whatever vigilante/hero is going to minimize the impact of the aliens among the townies. Who was it that said this again...

 

 

I would say the Vig targetted Rafay and the scum targetted Master Master Master Master Master Master Samus.

 

 

 

If it were purely accidental (we can never trust him to affirm) that he (Big Ego) mentioned death as opposed to disappearance, then we know a little less. Otherwise, we have something to mull over.

 

Quotes beyond those quotes mentioned (we are only on day 2 you know) are kind of useless.

 

But something I found rather curious was the following:

Perhaps this explains R2V's motivation for rage quitting. Maybe Big Ego is leading us down a deceiving path (if he is even in a position to decieve). It also could explain a tier system within the scum hierarchy. Like how a mafia boss might have a different ability power than as a goon, and in reality all a goon really is is a life line for his boss. The boss, the goon is everything, to the goon, he's just cannon fodder.

I haven't been quick to jump on a wagon against anyone, and EM was on the list. I could've tried to shift blame to you Ovid, and jump on the wagon against you. Since I didn't people could potentially see that as me protecting you as well.

I don't recall mentioning bandwagoning, and (consequentially speaking) you didn't.

 

Also, I don't see what good my vote is going to do. The only current lynch lead is myself, and (if it pleases the court) I would put my vote there, but first I need to write out where my suspicious lie and with whom. When you know that I am a townie, my post may mean a little more.

I understand the unvotes on R2V/Preston because I find myself curious about this character. R2V was very high on my suspect list (perhaps 1A and 1B between him and iSo) and yet here is a player with half-majority votes who has been replaced even though he appeared to be on his was to lynch city. I was close to changing my vote to him when he threw his tantrum and said he was leaving.  If that isn't one of the biggest scum tells, then I need to read some more strategy about this game.

 

Ovid, no matter how this turns out I think you've added some great flavor to this game.  I still lean towards townie for you and can't quite follow the arguments being used to convince the rest of us you are scum.  Know that if you are lynched and proven innocent it will not be in vain.  I am sure we will find scum on the wagon used to lynch you.

Yes, coincidentally, Spatiz was among my thoughts for scum suspect. I don't think I've heard a single constructive thing from spaztik, but the hounds seem to have avoided him. They must truly hate poetry.
