One of my favorite TV shows. It's coming back soon! People were disappointed in season 3, which I didn't hate. Don't think it was the best season, but wasn't disappointed.

One of my fav shows as well. Who said they were disappointed in Season 3? I loved it.
Cant wait for the new season.

I'm a political junkie, and I couldn't make it through the first episode. I absolutely hate when the lead actor in a show, turns to the camera and starts talking to me directly... that can work in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but not a serious show. The first half hour, I turned it off... I was so pissed off.

They caught a lot of slack after it was released. I remember seeing on their facebook people not liking it and believing it really went down in season 3. If I remember correctly, a lot of people were saying they didn't like how Francis wasn't as pushy or authoritative. Prior to this, he would scheme, and plot to reach the top (become President) and screw anyone over in the process, but once reaching there he didn't seem to behave the same. Didn't roll over people like he would in the first 2 seasons, seemed to rely on others rather then force his ways. He gave in to Russia's demand, to kick Claire out of the UN.
Like you, I still enjoyed it, but many felt it fell flat.
I know many felt this would be the last season, as there's 52 cards in a deck, 4 seasons x 13 episodes a season = 52, but I know they signed on for season 5 as well already.
Hope it turns out well.

Definitely one of my Fav shows. Cant wait for season 4!
Season 4 is a lot better as it brings back the plotting and dark arts of political fighting.
TBH, I'm only 3 episodes in so I have a ways to go, but haven't been real impressed after the first 3. I mean the backstabbing going on between Claire and Francis is some good stuff, but TBH the season so far seems to be Claire focused and her basically outsmarting Francis. It seems less on Francis, and more on Claire and what shes doing or what she wants.
But I'm only 3 episodes in so things can get better. Hopefully wont be disappointed.

It picks up some pace and some interesting things are about to happen.
Just finished season 4 already
Season 3 sucked vs Season 4. Icewolf said it best, the ruthless plotting and scheming is back in full force.
I am through 9 episodes, but TBH I still am not happy with it. I guess because I'm more team Francis, and still to this point there is a little scheming and things going on, but it still all revolves around Claire and what she wants. Basically Frank looks like a whipped dog that basically has admitted she's the real reason he's there and doing what she wants. I just don't really like her, I mean I liked her when they were a team and worked together to fuck people over, but now it's not the same. They aren't the emotionally attached people they once were, hell they wont even look at each other naked anymore in the bathroom, and shes off fucking some shitty book writer. I don't like them having no emotional or sexual connection anymore, just two identities looking to screw people over. And like I said, all the scheming/backstabbing going on is basically doing whatever to get her what she wants, not what Francis wants. She has him whooped, and for some reason wiling to do whatever for her after she left him. I mean they both have fucked around on each other, but before it was both known, and they still came back and had that same emotion with each other as well.
I just don't like Claire, I think she's a cunt (pardon my french), so tired of seeing her get her way. She basically turned on Francis and what he wanted and setup, leaked a picture to screw him, and he's still on his knees doing what she wants. Fuck it, divorce the bitch, do what you did in Texas with screwing her chances to ever hold an office and move on to some new girl. I mean I get she has a lot that she could expose that he doesn't want her pissed off, but even so, he has enough to ruin her to if she did. I miss the Francis where he did what he wanted and for who he wanted, not for someone else.

Maybe this is sexist but I enjoy watching Frank scheme a lot more than Claire scheme. He's much more multi-dimensional, he has all these mannerisms, he cajoles, he threatens, he does silly shit at times. I'm on episode 6 right now, and it's too much Claire for me. Also, I think the Russian president said it pretty well, Claire is a nobody without Frank, so it's been really annoying watching her destroy him as if it wouldn't reflect on her as well. Overall, I just hate the Frank-Claire marital problems arc, and the idea that people would be fine with her as her husbands VP pick is just flat out crazy. House of Cards's realism went out the window when Frank killed two people personally, but this is on a whole nother level.
