I have met him many times- my Daughter works within the same office building he does, In Burlington. While i disagree with him on almost every item, i give him credit for his consistency of belief, I also give him credit for publicly speaking with me every time he holds a town hall, and yes i excoriate his socialism each time, yet he still asks me for comment. now to be sure, a lot of his popularity in this State is 1) its a small state with few people, and 2) if i was to call his office there is a very good chance he will make the time to talk or to help fix whatever issue it is a person was calling about, - so, yes, he does practice what he preaches to an extent, if we want to ignore the 3 vary large homes he and his wife have, that his wife has been involved in several financial "situation's" that greatly enhanced their wealth. and that from the time he has been in office the taxes have increase 15 fold with no greater services rendered and the crime as well as drug use and homelessness is out of control for a state this small. his policies have driven many large employers out of the State to create a much small tax base ( thus the massive tax increases) fewer jobs, a big defender of { defund the police} thus again the massive crime increases, so - No, Socialism has and always will fail no matter how its tried, he gets the votes to stay on Office thru one county ( Chittenden) that contains 50% of the States population, the remainder of the State votes the other way,
