Prefered your old sig, the elements fitted together nicely, had a much better sense of continuity. I feel like an Estonian judge in during the eurovision song contest for saying that, after such a great response: Please critique the crap out of mine.

No worries, I'm just trying out new techniques from tutorials on PS before I work on design cohesiveness. I'll face down Nadia and the East German judge all day long if need be
As for critiques on yours, to my eyes the design and overall theme is top notch and professional quality.

Yeh practise practise, is all you need to do with PS. Read and follow as many tut's as you can, the first time, just copy there ideas and methods, then go back and try it again but tweak a few simple parts just slightly; colours/lengths/blending options, and then finally try and just emulate its style, rather than its making a copy of its outcome; by deviating at some point to add your own twist to it. If your not greatly experienced, do the WHOLE of a video tutorial [I used lynda.com] to get to grips with every tool, filter, menu and option available to you, even if you already know how to use 75% of them. Why? cos it'll teach you the ones you neglect to use, for me, these were probably the most powerful.
Clone tool. Paths. First Aid brust. Patch tool. History brush. Creating custom brushes. and custom patterns. Levels. Blending options. The 25% of PS i just "skipped over" when I was first learning, are the parts I use the parts I rely on now. Learn to love these tools and the best way to use them.
In the long term, I might be tempted to write some tut's if there is some level of interest on the forum, on how to utilize PS to its best of its abilities.
EDIT: /derail Please critique my ava, tell me why it sucks
