I don't think they stated that anything horrible would happen. They just stopped keeping track of time. Just because your yearly calendar runs out on December 31st doesn't mean we're doomed anymore than we were doomed when clocks flipped from 1999 to 2000. Just make the most of it, sell some people paper bags to put over their heads and have a good time folks.

I told my therapist I was having nightmares about nuclear explosions. He said don't worry it's not the end of the world.

It's strange, the more we learn about the universe the more we realise just how many things there are out there which could wipe us all out in a fraction of a second with no warning and to anyone who came after would look like we all just dropped down dead.
