I'm not sure I can realistically afford to go to Vegas of I'm honest!

Vegas would likely be a little but of a stretch for some people which is why a bigger city in the Midwest or on the east coast may be more plausible.

Let's do Las Vegas and start looking for a hotel.

 

Anyone works with a hotel chain or have access to promotions?

I live in the midwest and doubt that I would be able to get away for a weekend due to having a family.  If this turns into a midwest thing or the deals in vegas are just too good to pass up then I just may be in.

I'm in the Midwest too. I was originally envisioning doing this somewhere in the Midwest because travel for all us in the states would be pretty easy and it would be relatively cheaper for anyone wanting to come from Europe.

I don't know about that Nashville comment  (says a guy form Nashville) . We have LOTS of homeless street musicians just waiting for their big break.

 

As for the get together, I will be the one wearing a welding cap.

I would definitely try my best to be wherever we decided the get together would be. I have a new nomination city though that is along the lines of New Orleans and Vegas. I nominate:

 

Austin, TX

 

Only because I am already here and Austin is right up there with The Big Easy and Vegas as far as being a party town with some great food. Austin is home to SXSW (South by Southwest Film festival), Austin City Limits, 6th Street, Brand new Formula One race track, Longhorns, and a music scene that rivals Nashville.

 

Also I would love to go to Vegas or The Big Easy but wanted to throw Austin into the hat.

I'd say first thing first is gather up interested people's locations and find a place that doesn't murder the check book. Probably want somewhere local to an IRONer who is able to help organize. etc.

Dude I'll have to go fishing for it. That was like a year and a half ago.

This would be fun. I would say come to New England but.... Sandy kind of destroyed our beaches and coastal restaurants.  Still being rebuilt atm
