Imran and Helix - would you please help us lynch scum and vote Blaskowicz? If you are having ANY doubts that I haven't addressed, would you please let me know what they are? I can't imagine a scum lynch tied up in a prettier/more obvious bow.

Kaz- I voted Yates not Lyner

You must have "accidentally" missed this:

There has to be a doc in this game or I would have been killed last night and no one else has counter claimed.

So a Yates/Daniel scum team since we both claimed BP which would have ALSO protected a Town EM?

Any idea how I knew you visited me N1 and that you went nowhere N2 since I made that claim before you claimed lightning rod?

Any reason you keep "forgetting" those claims?

Any reason you haven't answered any of the questions I posed to you that might indicate even a smidgen of pro Town EM?

Am I misreading this or are you saying you being BP would have saved EM?

Am I misreading this or are you saying you being BP would have saved EM?

I've never played with a lightning rod before so I'm not 100% sure [more like 95%] on how night action resolution would work in this situation but:

"The Lightning Rod passively redirects every Night Action to itself. This includes the Mafia's kill as well as all investigations, protections, and so forth. " [source]

So I *believe* a passive protection - like a BP - would also redirect to the lightning rod.  Not sure why it wouldn't since it isn't a vest or something like that.  In my case, I have the Book of the Dead.  So in the event I was killed, the kill triggers a protection from the book - exactly in the same way, I imagine, as if a doc had protected me.  You'd have to ask Daniel how he claims his works.

In reality, the point is likely moot as EM is almost certainly running a scum gambit.

While I obviously can't prove it? I believe they either targeted me or Daniel last night. When they got a no kill? This was their last ditch effort to get a mislynch on the tracker. The way you will know if they targeted me last night is if I get killed tonight. That means they targeted me last night and it went through. If that happened, EM was obviously NOT a lightning rod. If Daniel is killed tonight then HE was targeted last night and thus EM is obviously not a lightning rod. He will undoubtedly claim "scum blocker!"  But that's silly.  If there was a scum blocker, I would have been blocked last night and I wasn't. Bookmark this post for review tomorrow.

Ok. This should clear it up:

Other Notes about this Setup

  • All Night actions will be resolved using Natural Action Resolution.

Natural Action Resolution.

Like I said, I don't know how Daniel's BP works but mine is triggered.

Triggered Actions

Some roles might take actions that are triggered by other actions. For example, a Paranoid Gun Owner will kill if targeted by an action. Resolve triggered actions along with the regular actions, using the golden rule as normal. Any action which triggers when a player is targeted should "go off" between steps 1 and 2, before resolving the action that triggers it. When that happens, stop and go back to step 1, this time considering the triggered action as well.

So my passive action is like a paranoid gun owner only instead of killing it resurrects.

I'm combing through completed games looking for "lightning rod" and seeing if any of them also include a BP player. Most of them are setup like this:

http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?p=4686184#p4686184

In all of these games, the lightning rod is a single 1 shot ability and not part of a JOAT. But bear with me as I keep looking...

So my passive action is like a paranoid gun owner only instead of killing it resurrects.

Passive action is an oxymoron.  Abilities are passive.  Not actions.  Actions may be triggered, but those aren't passive.

Correction: Abilities can be passive.

Passive abilities.

Triggered actions.

Well, I can neither prove nor disprove this. [go to google and search for "site:mafiascum.net lightning rod" without the quotes] Lightning rods are mentioned but very rare in actual games and I simply can't find a game with both a lightning rod AND BP in it. I think lightning rods are rare because of issues like this - they become a nightmare to resolve.

Again, I feel like this whole discussion is moot, though. This is almost certainly a scum gambit and we are spinning our wheels for nothing.

Passive action is an oxymoron. Abilities are passive. Not actions. Actions may be triggered, but those aren't passive.

Actually, duh, I just looked up PGO:

"The Paranoid Gun Owner passively (and involuntarily) kills anyone who targets it during the Night. "

So yeah, I'm pretty sure my theory stands. My BP - in this hypothetical lightning rod scenario - WOULD prevent a kill. Something else of note, that I didn't mention yesterday before the SK was lynched, is that my BP would have blocked multiple kills. I did double check this with the mod. He redirected me towards this:

Other Notes about this Setup

  • Protective abilities block all normal kill attempts (even stacked attempts) unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Anyway, the info is all there. I'll be snowshoeing all day tomorrow. Please lynch the fake "neighborizing doc" claim. There is literally no excuse for ANY of the play from that slot.

Also, please push EM to answer this post and this post and make him HARD COMMIT. If he's Town? He has no reason not to. As scum? It limits his ability to invent excuses on the fly. Do this. PLEASE.

@Iron_Helix

1. Did I neighbourise anyone last night? No one was neighbourised by me last night

2. Is there anything else to my role? Apart from adding as many people as I want into the neighbourhood, no - which is why I assume my predecessors did not add anyone else except Yates in there

Is that all you wanted to know?

Also I feel as if I need to vote now rather than just sitting on the no vote list so

Vote: Blaskowicz

For the numerous amount of evidence that has been posted above. I would probably be voting EM as his role claim sounds a lot more redicilous to me but seeing as these two are 'linked' and Blask has a lot of lynch votes I guess it's Blask

Yup! That should just about do it.

So unless you think he's a neighborizing doc, would you please vote for Blaskowicz so Helix can hammer when ready?

Thanks!

woot! Ninjaed!

ABigDeer, please tell us your character claim.

And just to make sure I understand: your role was able to neighborize someone last night, but they just chose not to.

Indeed

My character is "Slimer", known mostly from his large appetite

Passive action is an oxymoron. Abilities are passive. Not actions. Actions may be triggered, but those aren't passive.

Well first passive is defined as lack of action.  You cannot have a passive action, it's a contradiction in terms.  Also if you're making an analogy between BP and the PGO, if you were the PGO and your triggered action were transferred to EM, everyone with a night action would have died in one night (like 4 people).  There's a clear distinction here.  Performed actions are performed on the lightning rod.  If all abilities were transferred, EM should have gotten my role confirmation ability.

Also the PGO would have had to be targeted to trigger the action. With a lighting rod he isn't targeted, so his action isn't triggered.

Your action couldn't have been "triggered" since EM was the default target of all actions.

Helix. Stop. I'm not going to have this debate with you. It doesn't matter. It's a scum gambit. He isn't a lightning rod. At least, he isn't a TOWN lightning rod [which means scum no killed with purpose]. Lynch obvscum Blaskowicz.

And ABigDeer's claim that he can neighborize but (Simternity) chose not to, makes me highly suspicious.  Seems way too convenient.

WHAT?? Simternity WASN'T EVEN HERE.

Fine. Lynch Blaskowicz. If he flips Town? The scum team is me and ABigDeer and Daniel if there's a 3rd scum. There you go. You just won the game.
