[Fox Fire]

So, theres quite alot of very strange things on Google Maps. So I thought, why not have a thread to share these strange things?

 

Well, tonight I was looking for this strange structure I once found in the Sahara that was oddly large for being so amazingly remote. 

Instead, I found this in southern Egypt:

 

Turns out, its there in every level of zoom, except anything higher than that. If you zoom all the way in, it disappears. Zoom all the way out, still there.

Those look like center pivot irrigation fields.  Deserts are sometimes a preferred climate to grow delicate crops because the amount of moisture and time of application can be controlled with more precision when there is no rainfall to be concerned about.  In California, there's a whole area in the southwest of the central valley called the Westlands Water District that gets hardly any rain at all and is dedicated to this kind of farming.

But it disappears if you zoom in any further. Maybe it was removed and the pics are different times?

Its also 20 miles wide and pretty remote.

As for #1, thats a lake. And I looked it up. It "has no official explanation." A tipster said its the result of a local slaughter house. Others believe its from some sort of water treatment or polution.

 

#2, IDK, but it looks like theres airplanes near the center... Some weird, top secret military stone henge?

yeah dye polution, you can make lakes the color of the rainbow with it!

Anyone remember this several years back? Everyone thought it was Atlantis. But I don't you can find it anymore since Google updated their maps.

Depends on the time of year / how old the different images are.
