From what I read, the majority of younger Americans fail this quiz. I got 13 out of 13.

Bummer... 12 out of 13

I was wrong on the chemical reaction question... my bad but science was never my strong subject.

History and Politics are

13/13

Further reinforces my long-standing view that people in general don't have a clue.

It's very interesting, that males scored better than females in all categories, EXCEPT the 3 medical questions where females won 2/3 by a significant margin.

Correct... what is most disturbing about it is people in general don't have a clue, that they don't have a clue.

full marks.

But seriously... only 31% of US college graduates who took the test knew Nitrogen was the most abundant gas in earth's atmosphere? Blimey...

11 out of 13, not bad for someone as old as me lol

12/13 You scored better than 85% of the public, below 7% and the same as 8%.

I had no idea what "fracking" meant, never heard of it. But yeah, it's pretty sad to see these results...

Took this one before, offcourse again full 13/13 marks

That was my answer as well... I just didn't want to give away the answer to others wanting to take the test

13/13, though I just guessed the "fracking" part

You scored better than 93% of the public and the same as 7%.

I'm so shocked so many people don't know what fracking is.

Just so you guys on the left don't get caught in an embarrassing situation... you are firmly against it.

Anything that reduces the cost of energy... you guys want to destroy.

Can't believe I'm coaching the liberals on how to be a liberal.

nuclear power also reduces energy cost >_>

Agreed, nuclear power for everyone!

Battlestar Galactica references aside, I had no idea what 'Fracking' was either. I did guess correctly though

Woot! I'm a 7%-er!

Liquid phase thorium reactors ftw.

gg 8th grade qducation.

Heh, even though it's not a geography quiz, they should've asked if Africa was a country or a continent.

That's just sad.

This quiz was too easy, no fun at all.

Tells a lot about  the general populace, doesn't it?

Or the education system.

I once spoke with an adult person, a high school graduate, who didn't know that the earth revolves around the sun. Another one, who was actually in university at the time, was surprised to learn that the USA and the USSR were on the same side in WW2.

Scary thing is, these people vote.

I was not sure about the most abundant gas in the atmosphere question, so it was an educated guess, since I know from being a firefighter that Oxygen makes up 21% of the air we breathe.

My grandmother, rest her soul, was a very smart and educated woman.

To the day she died, she was convinced that the moon landing was staged.

I'm pretty sure there is NO SCHOOL in the US (well, maybe a few, but can't be many) where they don't teach basic science like that. Of course it's hard to teach someone if they refuse to learn.

What state are you from? I'm assuming Ohio?

[inside joke]

One of our ODN members is from Ohio and she swears up and down that she was taught in school that Christopher Columbus, Captain of the Mayflower, landed on Plymouth Rock and had Thanksgiving dinner with Indians. Oh. And that clouds are sponges.
