I tried this myself, and to my amazement, its true. It really works.
Try it yourself. Its kinda cool.
Now alot of people seem to be claiming the snow that falls from the sky is somehow fake. That the reason this happens is because of chemical trails or government experimentation.
So I also found this:

Not sure I entirely buy this explanation (the part about it melting dry) after my expirement, but Im no expert, so who knows.
Either way, its cool.

Yes! The excessive snowing must be the result of government experimentation and not some crackpot theory like climate change!

THe explanation is about right. The smell of burning plastics could be from a multitude of causes... though we have pumped far more plasticy substances into the atmosphere than our governments have... not to mention most precipitation seeds are silver nitrate based and wouldn't smell of burning plastic.
1) its AgI (Silveriodine) thats used for cloud seeing
2) AgNO3 (Silvernitrate) actually blackens quite nicely on contact with skin >_>
geez, I thought you knew your chemistry...

close enough yeah, but the irony was in the silvernitrate giving black on skin contact
