Reservoir dogs mafia

Featured Replies

So there is a vigilante in the game. That actually fits in with the theme of this game.

Also interesting that they killed Lyner instead of robert.

These players lynched a townie:

Lord Zetano (6) - zenonia, Sweeeeet Ronny D, Imran Ehsan, Electric Mango, Lyner, Commander Sheppard

These players lynched a scum:

Sweeeeet Ronny D (5) - PerfectMafia, KevinH, Lyner, Imran Ehsan, robert2424

I really thought Commander Shepard was a scum since he put the hammer vote on a townie and then didn't vote to lynch the scum.

Draw on Zenonia.

He's on the lynch a townie list and not on the lynch a scum list.

Who was saying that lynching on Day 1 is fruitless? Now we have a voting trend on Day 3.

Agreed with the reasoning as well. zeonia is the online alive player who voted to lynch a townie and failed to vote for a lynch on a scum.

Draws on zenonia

Also, none of your cases make sense. Since I did not vote, how does that make a cop? A cop would want to vote for people as it helps them win. In no way does random lynching help the town win as it takes one player out of the game which helps the cops get 1 closer to an auto-win.

Not voting is playing it safe. Scum dont want a voting trend to be used against them (see above). If someone is staying away from taking sides while a townie/scum is being lynched, it makes it harder to identify the scum. Not voting is not a help to the town. Only scum will employ such a tactic.

However, plus points to you for drawing on zenonia today.

But I doubt anyone is informed of anyone else's roles, so the scum could be voting for scum and not even know it. As well as the other way around. It is not a good tactic to lynch someone based on voting or not because hardly anyone knows the role of the person they are voting for unless their role allows them too or the scum is told who the other scum are. In the case of the latter, voting based on how people vote would be a good tactic, but I do not know if that is the case in this game so I prefer not voting over voting for someone just to vote. We would all just be voting upon opinions instead of facts and hope for the best.

3 votes already? I'll roleclaim.

Doctor. Ask away for more info.

Day 1: My vote on LordZetano was very, very, early on. It was meant as an RVS vote, and I had not withdrawn the vote at the time. It was not a vote on the bandwagon.

Day 2: I didn't really have much of an informed opinion at this point to firmly cast a lynching vote.

Mafia = voting on opinions and suspicions. You are very unlikely to ever get "facts" to base your vote upon until it is too late. Someone may "claim" to be a "cop" and know the alignment of certain other players, but still then you cannot be sure whether what they are claiming is true or he is false-claiming. You even voted this day based on a voting trend on not on any "fact".

And normally scum know who the other scum are. I havent played any game where the scum are unaware of who their other scum buddies are. This is simply because the scum faction gets one nightkill and you cant have 2-3 different scums sending different nightkills unless they can discuss amongst themselves who they are going to kill in the night.

Who did you protect in Night 1 and Night 2?

Who are most suspicious to you in this game? and why?

....sigh. Well, if he is the doctor, we're F'd. Or he is claiming doctor so the real doctor will claim. In witch case we're F'd.

@Iman, why in the world would the vig target me? the one who hammered the anti? It would seem to me, Commander Shepard is a odd choice sure, but the only thing I can remember that would make, maybe a newer player to kill him maybe was somebody saying "If Commander Shepard is scum, we're screwed." Though the only people I think would take that to heart would be a newer player to the game of Mafia.

Now the question is, since the Vig didn't kill on N1, was the person he try to kill got protected or did he opt out of killing N1?

I'm a bit stumped on LR comment. But has me leaving me think he may be more town then. Not sure.

I meant it is odd that the scum didnt target you.

It is clear why the vigilante targetted CS. The same reason zenonia is high on the suspects list (voting for a lynch on a townie and refraining from voting on a lynch on a scum).

I protected Lyner D1, Robert D2.

I thought it was weird that KevinH has not been targetted by scum yet, so that's my most suspicious guy.

I'll share a rather elaborate breadcrumb in http://ironcentral.org/community/topic/41981-undercover-mafia/?p=662097.

The first letter in the first sentence of each line spells STAT and the first letter in the second sentence of each line spells SCBW. Which unit says STAT in SCBW? The Medic. Hence, I'm a doctor.

I'll elaborate a bit on this: I do not prevent vig kills, only scum kills, if my interpretation of my role is correct.

I'm am now absolutely confused with you zenonia. STAT? SCBW? Your going to have to elaborate a bit. Its almost 5 in the moring, if your quoting some Medical thing, heck if most people would know that. And frankly, I don't feel like looking it up ether. though why did u decide to protect me N2? Or Lyner on N1? Unless your claiming only to protect during the day phase with say D1 and D2. Witch I highly doubt.

But I would say this. If you are the doc, (I can't know for sure) you are to try to protect somebody who you think town that may be targeted by scum. Is blocking a vig kill always 100 % a bad thing. no. You could be protecting a townie or who you believe to be townie, but odds are this scenario isn't coming into play, or at least it shouldn't ever come into play.

@Iman, I'm normally never really targeted for a night kill unless its ether somebody new, for payback, or simply cause they fear my night action/think I have a night action. While I have said I have a night action, I've never said exactly what it was.

You indicated you had a night action and hammered on a scum -> townie actions and with ability that scum would want to take out. Its odd that the role blocker blocked you 2 nights in a row even after your actions on Day 2. So if you are indeed townie, that indicates the roleblocker is in the scum faction and they decided to block a known player with night action and go for a kill on a second target. So thinking about it, probably a logical move on their part to role block you again instead of killing you.

I guess true enough. But once the role blocker is gone, then its just auto kill me. Witch maybe, they are fine with me being alive so long as they don't do a major mistake like Sweeet Roney did that I'd find. In other words, they think I can't find them out and have other people they rather kill that they consider a bigger threat.

SCBW = Starcraft: Brood War. The Medic is the only unit whose quotation is "Stat!" when selected (or moving I forget). It's a minor and very non-obvious breadcrumb (I don't want to reveal that I'm doc to the scum, now would I?) but it was deliberately placed.

I protected people who I thought could possibly die. (You're right, those should be N1 N2 not D1 D2, but w/e) I wanted to test whether KevinH would die last night since he would appear to be a very high priority target (and I thought you were next likely to die due to your power role claim). Since he didn't die, I'm voting him based on suspicion. I protected Lyner N1 more or less randomly but apparently he's indeed town in hindsight.

As I noted, I'm pretty sure my ROLE doesn't block any vig kills. Never made any value judgement on it.

I could even give you more flavor and whatnot if you guys want, I'm pretty certain I'd die at night anyway.

With that said I suspect both scum are voting me right now, or else I'd be hammered already.

One of them I think is KevinH.

That STAT /SWBW doesnt really mean anything. You could have been covering your bases early by posting that and trying to look like a Doc even if you are a scum. Probably only a scum will try to have a fallback plan like that in case he got caught.

Pretty confident you are one of the scums and you are lying about being a doc. Whos you buddy?

What else do you want me to post >.>

My role name is Mr. White. The full flavor name of my role is "Safe Cracker". I can undo locks so therefore I counteract the investigator's (the anti-town) "kill". Seeing as there are other kill methods, it would seem very likely that I do not protect those cases, e.g. "dunking people into a water bucket".

Well at least in the forums that I play mafia in, breadcrumbing is really quite frequent.

I dont see the relationship in the ability to open locks to the ability of protecting someone from being "caught" by cops at night. Please explain. That actually seems like an ability that a "cop" will have.

I'm starting to think you want this lynch too badly, Imran :P

Feels a bit scummy imo

I have gone though your previous posts and have noted you have made almost no attempt at scum hunting. The only detailed post you have is the one you linked above and there you discuss the positives of a Day 1 lynch after the fact. Other posts have been basically asking why only half majority is needed for a lynch while SRD was being lynched. Add that to your voting trend. I may be wrong about you being scum but I dont think so.

That's largely because until today I never really saw much suspicious behavior. My N1 protect was largely random, remember - in part due to such a rushed lynch.

The investigators "kill" by handcuffing people. If I visit someone, I can break those handcuffs. In other words, I protect them. It's a somewhat contrived flavor, but what do you expect with the theme of making the investigators anti-town :P

I like PerfectMafia's voting record despite the inactivity.

Zenonia has talked a good game (like either a truthful townie or a skilled scum would do).

My next choices for lynch would be either iSocialism or LordRagnar, strictly based on activity.

the fact that zenonia hasnt been hammered yet makes me more comfortable that we are lynching a scum. :smug:

if he wasnt scum, one of the scum would have hammered by now.

Spill it Ragnar, you with the cops? Why weren't you on ether of the lynching. Got a conscience all the sudden?

Yeah Ragnar, why weren't you voting at all? You have removed your clip once and then didn't vote the next time...

Drawing on LordRagnar

LordRagnar has voted and provided explanations for his silence previously. Do you believe him? Do you still he is scum? If no, why are you still voting for him?

What do you think about zenonia's role claim? Do you believe him? If yes, do you believe his claim that kevinh may be scum?

Ok, looks like we got a vig somewhere. Killed Comander Shepard.

I got a No result again. So, might still be a role blocker out there, or killgore doing this on purpose to me. Though as it seems it doesn't matter, as I targeted Lyner night one and got No Result. He was town.

Personally, I don't like much inactive people, and there is one guy who hasn't be on ether lynch. Coincidence, maybe, but not much helping us out ether.

iSocialism may need to be mod-prodded

His explanation seems flaky to me. He hasn't tried to help the town by lynching with the exception of voting for zenonia this time around. Imran gave a good argument at post 176 that is the main reason for me keeping my vote on him. The counter-argument on why he didn't vote just seems a convoluted mess! He's not voting because, if I'm reading his post 178 correctly..correct me if I'm wrong, it seems he doesn't want to vote for scum if they don't know who other scum are.....I could be completely wrong in what his post means but it's not a clear answer nonetheless.

Zenonia's role claim is interesting, but....his breadcrumbing was too complex for this community college student's mind. Never played Starcraft before, likely never will. Now, as to believing him?......I don't know, the breadcrumb trail is still confusing me plus he could just be claiming to be Doctor & picked two random names as to who he protected.

The claim "KevinH is Scum" has no backing. All he said is "One of them I think is KevinH." No support for his assertion. I, personally, don't believe anything that has no backing...I need evidence to support it.

Yet you still base your vote on assumptions that you assume are true based on your own personal backing. I believe what I meant was, I did not want to vote the following round as I did not want to help the scum get one closer to an autowin by just taking a random shot in the dark and jumping on a bandwagon or drawing a conclusion based on poorly deduced arguments. When I have no evidence proving anyone in this game is scum or not due to the lack of evidence we had in the first two rounds. It also explains why I chose to not lynch anyone in the first round as there was absolutely nothing to go by.
