As I play allot of console games, and I mean allot of consul games. I've broken down and bought the Elgato game capture card. Meaning, I can record my gaming. I've always wanted to do this and Make lets play. I haven't uploaded anything yet, and still compiling footage. Testing things out, I'd like to eventfully do Let's play series and multiplayer gameplay. And frankly, I own allot games. Going back all the way to the super Nintendo. (Witch I can record). ect, ect. There are some series I auto matically plan on making Let's plays of. (Like Kingdom Hearts and Mass Effect). So I was wondering if there were any recommendations out there on lets plays you guys would like to see. I've mainly gotten Titan Fall footage. The audio is lacking and delayed with the pictured.

I would highly suggest to make your channel about doing things that you actually enjoy rather than looking to appease your fans.

In my opinion the channels that are not centered around the uploader's own interests; whether they be philosophy, economics, or gaming, the content comes off flat and not nearly as interesting to watch.

Well, I'm not going to play games I don't wish to play, only things I want to play. I was just trying to get suggestions and what maybe some people like and if I wouldn't mind doing it, I'd do it sort of thing.

I've played on consuls since elementary school, and it can be called my hobby in my spare time when I'm by myself. I play a fair amount, not overboard where I have no life (I do have a Job and do some gaming on the computer, such as cyber nations but not greatest computer gamer out there that for sure) but enough that I own a 360, Xbox one, Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, N64 and a Super Nentendo, and have qwite a few games for all them. Plus I got Game fly now so I can get even more games. So allot is a good amount. - time of sleeping, work, friends, cybernations, and girls. I'm actually uploading a Titan Fall clip I just made as a test. I can post link here if you guys are interested in checking it out. It won't be fully uploaded till an hour from now....

I use to do this with my Hauppauge.  Had over 25k subscribers before I stopped and eventually deleted my channel.  As Zip said, play games you have played and enjoy playing.  I was asked to do videos for certain games that I never played, nor cared to really, and they were some of my worst.  I always enjoyed doing them, but time became and issue with recording, editing, so on.  Let us know when you upload your first.  It's fun to experiment with.

I play PC games, but I have to say I have used "Let's Play..." videos a lot to see the strategies that other players have used.

It's a great service to the gaming community. Impress me and make a video called "Let's Play CyberNations!"

It should take you about 3 years of editing together all the screenshots, and the real challenge would be to make it exciting! :)

Good Luck on your endeavor my friend.

Hook up your microphone. Walkthroughs with narration are always the best. I'm an RTS junkie and the only shooter I have ever made it through was Call of Duty 4. They remind me too much of my days when I used to take my daughter to the arcade and feed quarters into the machines to keep going to get to the next level. The resolution could be better, but i know the problems that come with that. I think you are on your way to many, many views.

I can turn on my microphone, but it ends up with a echo sort of thing. So I'll need to connect my headphones up to the T.V. as this is the xbox one, not the 360. It hard to play well without sound to me.

I would sometimes tape the gameplay, upload it to my computer, and then do commentary as I watched it.

This would probably be the very best way to do it... I see a lot of people edit their videos as well.

They will save their game in tight spots and work it over and over until they get it right, and just include the best scenario.

Should have posted this thread in the Bar and Grill... it will get buried in shit here.

Not if I post every day.

Like other posters have stated, ask yourself what you can add to the experience of the game. The best LPs either have emotionally engaged narrators or a unique perspective on the action.

My favorite LPs are Avolition's, partly because I'm a troll, but also because they really explored Minecraft's game mechanics and what happens when you break them. That isn't really what you're going for with a FPS or a walkthrough, but maybe you could try showing some of the game's quirks.

Good luck! There's a lot of content out there, but multiple channels have shown that you can compete with quality content. Remember that interest>time. This isn't like a webcomic, where quantity can trump quality since most readers won't read a comic more than once. People will watch videos they love over and over again. And make sure you would be proud enough to share it with RL friends. If you aren't, then it needs more work.

sorry, been a bit busy, but I got Live feed going. With working microphone. Unfortionitly a chunk of the live feed didn't get onto the internet, via the actual gameplay, but again, still, it was a trial run basically since my friend begged me to play zombies. Then passed out before we could play. So I'll get around to trying other stuff later, but its just another step in the right directions. Will probally take the video down later as there isn't any actual gameplay in it as it didn't get to youtube for some reason? But I know better next time if I decide to live stream again. Especially when the new zombie game comes out next year where we can try to get the first easter egg done and stuff like that. But link below. (For some reason my voice sounds very high pitched in the video, might be the mic. again first time recording on the 360)

I've been watching some of them, and they're funny, although they drag at parts. While you can't do it with a live stream, you might try to do more editing with the longer videos. Things always tend to drag after 15 minutes, and people will enjoy and come back for a snappy 5-20 minute video, while many get turned off the instant they see more than 20 minutes on the video.

Honestly, cutting and arrangement is the hardest part of any content creation. People would rather watch 5 minutes of explosions than forty minutes of running and shooting. Find your favorite parts of the videos and figure out a way to stitch them together or split them apart.
