A little more than a year ago I started a thread about possibly setting up an IRON meetup sometime. There was a lot of interest, but the idea was kind of pushed aside over time. Well it was suggested to me that we explore the possibility of doing this again.

 

We always talk about what a great community we have and are in IRON. I think it'd be cool if we could enjoy it and reminisce with one another sometime. This could be open to any current or former IRONers if we wanted it to be.

 

I was thinking that maybe we could hold something like this in the central United States somewhere. This would make travel a bit easier on people from around the country. Obviously this would be impossible/very difficult for anyone from over seas to attend but you would certainly be welcomed to come if you wanted to take a vacation to the U.S.

 

Would anyone even have any interest in something like this? If so, when do you think this could be a possibility and where should we look at meeting?

Player of Mafia; Master Samus/emudevelopment (shared); I think both were instrumental in the town’s defeat. Both were manipulative and deceptive. They clearly came out as pro-town and looked like de-facto town leaders. They led the lynch wagon w/o anyone uncovering their true motives.

There are two things you can't do in Las Vegas under 21... gamble and drink... at a bar or in the casinos anyway.

In the rooms is fair game but I would still stay away from gambling and drinking too much. It can really mess up your days.

It's changed so much since the Sin City days of the '70's and everywhere has so much for everyone.

My wife and I gamble occasionally and only for fun. We stay away from it because we live here.

I would still be down for this.  Vegas isnt as cheap as it once was years ago and many IRONers are not doctors and lawyers.  I think we should be aiming for the lowest dollar amount so many people could make it!

I'm not really opposed to any city necessarily, but we talked about somewhere in the midwest initially because travel wouldn't be as costly and it'd be centrally located for everyone in the states. The cities that were talked about more seriously in the past were: Austin, San Antonio, Chicago, St. Louis, and New Orleans.

I would love to go to London, but it would take a bit more planning than a text based internet game to make that happen.

My wife and I take road trips and we have two planned already this year. Denver to see my daughter in July, and I believe Sonoma California in October for wine, food, friends, and some more wine. I like Merlot and there is a lot of it there.

 

Edit:: I LOVE SAN ANTONIO!! The River Walk and Alamo was one of the funnest trips I have ever been on.

 

Never been to New Orleans but have always wanted to go there.

Yeah both San Antonio and New Orleans received a lot of "votes" originally. The problems with New Orleans would be similar to issues with Vegas. If you're underage, there wouldn't be much to do other than meet with all of us.

 

So let's start fresh. What cities would be feasible and appealing?

I like St. Louis. Or Kansas City. They now have the worlds largest water slide that is 17 stories tall and looks like a blast lol. Also TW we are going on that this summer I'm kidnapping you.
