Pity we don't have a 13th player; maybe my memory is buggy but I thought mafia games worked best with odd starting numbers (9, 11, 13). I'm sure we can make 12 work though!

Yes, games with 9, 11 and 13 players can be easily balanced. Anyhow, I have tried to give it my best shot.

I don't believe this to be true. Looking through the open setups at mafiascum.net, I see lots of even starting numbers.
