This just happened, my father was on the plane and took this picture. Will post videos and more pictures if people are interested. He was screaming and sprinting towards the cockpit. Several large passengers tackled him before he even reached the door.

Edit: this was after the plane had taken off for Denver, after this incident it was returned to Dulles.

Edit: he claimed to have bombs on board when first taken down, they are still looking into it but i imagine it was most likely a lie

Glad to see that several passengers sprung into action. Lie or not, it's nice to see people take a stand against such idiocy.

Yeah, nobody is hijacking a plane in the U.S. without a fight after 9/11. Everyone assumes hijackers are trying to kill everyone on the plane.

I remember the first time I flew on a plane. It was several years ago and I did my best to mentally prepare myself if an attemped hijacking were to occur. I knew that if one happened, I must react quickly and do everything I can to stop the threat.

 

Thankfully this incident was resolved quickly and the passengers didn't experience the bystander effect.
