I can understand what he says about pressure of deadlines, I do hope we get the book in 2016.
I like the show and the books, it was the show that got me into the books, and I will follow both.

They knew years ago that Martin was a lazy writer, and taking on GoT was a risk because it was an unfinished story. They calculated his history with how long it takes him to poop out a book and knew that he would never be able to keep up with the show schedule. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss know everything already, and have known for years. It was part of the deal that they know the story in case Martin dies... he's an old guy.
I have never read any of the books. I enjoy the show too much to kill it's greatness with conflicting character plots, missing details, and completely different outcomes. I will leave that to those other people that have no life. I'm utterly elated that it's all over now and no one can tell me what happens before it happens.
Some trivia that I discovered recently... I pulled out the DVD of the movie "Troy" to watch a couple weeks ago because I was bored... you know the one with Brad Pitt? Well anyway, I'm a credit watcher... drives my wife nuts in movie theaters, but I was amazed to see who wrote the screenplay of Troy... and it was David Benioff.

The books are good but I think the problem is that by the end of Dance with Dragons the characters were so spread out and so far scattered (even more so than in the TV series) that drawing them into a coherent story would be impossible.
THe series is already leaving out characters to keep semblance of order, but the books don't have that option.

Troy was a horrible movie though...
I thought it was a highly entertaining Hollywood version of an ancient story that no one really knows what happened.

the beach scene and the hector v achilles scene was literally the only interesting parts.

MVP(Mod’s Choice)= Master Samus; I think Master Samus played amazingly for a guy who claims it was his second only mafia game. He never led the town on him and that’s why he deserves this award. He was impressive in manipulating the town that led to the ultimate mafia victory.
Player of Mafia; Master Samus/emudevelopment (shared); I think both were instrumental in the town’s defeat. Both were manipulative and deceptive. They clearly came out as pro-town and looked like de-facto town leaders. They led the lynch wagon w/o anyone uncovering their true motives.

If you're worried about conflicting plots, don't ever pick up a copy of the Illiad after watching that film.

Then you didn't like the politics, or religious differences, between the two factions. Would not have been much of a movie without it, but I guess it wasn't much of a movie for you, with it. That movie is the cause of Brad Pitt swearing off ever doing another big epic project again. He hated making that movie, and soon after he blew up his marriage to Aniston. That was more because of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", but that was where it began. It was a hard movie for him to make.

the interesting parts of the movie. the story wasn't interesting at all when you compare it to the original greek mythology

300 IMO was too stylized, its not that I didn't like it, but Troy gave amore authentic feel.

One of the best fight scenes ever. What I hated the most about this is Eric Bana was my favorite character in Black Hawk Down.

I literally watch this movie again for this scene & the beach one.
This scene is just way too intense, the way the music flows with the fight choreography and the way Achilles is just so confident in his fighting abilities, also the way Achilles stares at Priam as he drags his son's body away after, like "wtf you gon do son?!". Ahhh! Intense!! I love it!
