I don't even want a wall. Whether he succeeds at that or not IDC. I don't want it even attempted.

I do. My reasoning for this, though, is it's way too easy for people we know nothing about to cross the border.

We have Mexican cartels that are extremely violent that are operating just across the border, and can pretty easily cross it into the US. I remember listening to a podcast that had Mike Detty (co-author of Operation Wide Receiver), where he talked about cartel members showing up at his place at unexpected and odd hours of the day. He found out later that one of the guys showing up was essentially the cartels hit man. How were these guys crossing the border, because, personally, I doubt it was through a US check point.

I remember reading a story a while back that there was a small group of Syrians caught crossing the border (less than 10). The problem is that, US Border Patrol admits that for every one person they catch, 10 more get through (will have to hunt for that background link again). So, my question is, why would these people need to enter the country illegally when our current President is promising to bring how many thousands of Syrians here, and they could potentially apply for political refugee status and get in? Makes me think that there was a reason that they didn't want the US Government to check them out.

As opposed to republicans who talk about all muslims wanting to kill us to instil fear.

You must not be paying attention. Republicans are not talking about Muslims wanting to kill us... Muslims are killing us. Donald Trump can say whatever he wants to say. When he actually wants Congress to pass laws, it is then it has to pass all the legal and Constitutional challenges. If he's "out of his damn mind"... he's a damn successful crazy guy and I want be be as crazy as he is. You can always vote for Hillary... now there's a peach.
Extremists are killing people, they happen to be Muslims today.

Whatever brings you comfort my friend. What would bring me comfort is doing everything we can to keep them "extremists" out of my country. Did you happen to see how fast the dudes father came out to declare it was a hate crime against gays? Makes sense since his anchor baby just got killed in the act of slaughtering 49 people in the name of ISIS. We need a leader.

It just occurred to me that according to your view... Adolf Hitler could have simply declared Nazism a religion, and we would be powerless to do anything about it... but I will never underestimate the "stupidity of the American voter"... that's your boy Jonathan Gruber. If you don't know who he is maybe you should look into it.

I wish to blame Chritianity for all the US drone strikes against innocent civilians, clearly this is a proper and correct method of seeking blame.

Also, I lol'd at this titbit of spielerei:

(darn thats large :D)

Maybe we should round up all the Muslims and kill them then since being a Muslim now makes you evil.

I never said what terrorists should be allowed to do what they want. I have issue with you branding Muslims as the devil just because Fox News told you they were bad.

Unless you're a Native American you're an immigrant too.

You remind me a lot of Nigel Farage. Maybe you should look him up? I'm sure you would agree with much of what he says.

You know I quit playing Chess when I was 13, because it was too easy. I'm sorry, but you have a dim view of our country, and I don't know where it came from. I wish I could help... but it's kinda like my family and I are sitting in our car, and someone I don't know, or trust, is driving very fast. I want us to be able to put on our seat belts, to protect us, but for some reason you won't let us. I don't know why? Can you explain that?

I watch Fox News, I read everything else... I assure you that no one tells me what to think.

I was born in California, my parents were born in California, my grandparents were born in Oklahoma... I assure you, I am not an immigrant. The Constitution of the United States of America says so, and that is the highest law of the land.

I don't know much about British politics, but I do like Nigel. I like Daniel Hannan too.

Putting on a seatbelt = banning all muslims?

no

banning all cars = banning all muslims!

You miss the point. We are not required to allow anyone to enter the USA, and if we choose to allow anyone to enter... we select who we wish to enter. We can choose to not allow any group we see fit... Jimmy Carter deported thousands of Iranians, and would not allow any to enter. So soon we forget. This is our country, and no one is entitled to come here. I equate "putting on seat belts" with doing what we want, and whatever it takes, to protect ourselves. How people feel about it... means nothing.

just losing your own morallity in the process, all shall be fine.

and no, even with oceans on both sides people will still be able to waltz into the US if they so desire. Regulation in moderation, seeing as you are on the "small gov" side anyway. :D

Heck, if you wanna go that route, when you banning Mexicans? When black people? When people with a moustache? Hear those have higher rates of "harming them americans" then some radical islam terrorists.

I know right Lysistrata? All those first nations people must really want to deport all your white folk arses back to Europe...

First nations people? What's that? Are you talking about Native Americans and Mexicans? The Native Americans still live here. Eskimos still live in Alaska... Hawaiians still live in Hawaii... Mexican Americans still live here as well. We are not deporting anyone that has always been here. If they want to say it's their land, then they can always form up an army and take it back, but until then I guess we'll just do things as we are.

Yes, so please stop shouting "democracy" when you leave your soil with more the a pair of slippers, a very lose shirt and a oversized camera dangling from your neck. >_>

What? My guess is you're drinking heavily, or your translator has gone haywire... either way it's okay, I understand.

This is a related development... David Jolly, Congressman from Florida had won his primary to run for Marco Rubio's Senate seat. He had always said he would drop out of the race if Marco wanted to run for reelection to the Senate. Well David Jolly has dropped out of the race... which tells me that Marco Rubio will be running for reelection to the Senate. This means Marco Rubio will not be the VP pick for Donald Trump. Interesting also because I don't think Marco likes the Senate... he doesn't accomplish anything there because it's always a filibuster. We shall see...

Meanwhile, Hungarian PM Orban officially endorses Trump as the first head of state that currently holds office. Not much of a surprise to me, but a fun fact nevertheless, don't know if you should be happy with it :D

So what is this now, 1 side is tripping over themselfes to find the easiest and most shittiest solution to imaginary issues while the other side is showing what al is wrong with the system itself.

you guys don't need a 3rd option, you fellows need a new option...

So from the outside looking in, 2 comments;

1) If you are in the Trump camp, would it concern you that a convention bounce and run of bad news for Clinton draws you just about level before rapidly falling behind?

2) What is the electoral strategy in remind everyone what a twat you are by insulting the mothers of dead soldiers?

We are stacking up the questions!

For all americans, are there numbers on the amount of voters for each side that vote:

- strictly due to party membership

- strictly due to dislike of opponent

- strictly due to liking of candidate (ignoring political platform)

- strictly due to political platform (different from party membership as these people follow the party as a whole)

Also, are people voting for Dem/Rep knowing that while candidate for Dem/Rep isn't there desire, they know the partymembers surrounding them + senate and representatives will "reighn them in" when needed? (aka, I know my president is a fruitcake but his staff will keep us safe).

There are a ton of people that vote strictly based on party membership (I know several people that refer to themselves as "yellow dog democrats".  Had to have one explain it to me a few years back, he said he'd "vote for a yellow dog if it was registered as a democrat").  Are there actually any studies or surveys out there that give percentages who vote based on what you've asked? None that I know of.

I'm sure there are. Who the candidate surrounds themselves with has influenced me to not vote for someone in the past.  I would have likely voted for McCain, until Palin seemed to be batshit insane to me (and that honestly could have been media portrayal, and she wasn't nearly as bad as she came off).

She can see the Russians coming, from her house!
