Another great favorite. Every week when I spend a couple hours in my living room to finish my work for the week, I choose something to watch while I work. This week I pulled this off my shelf. I wonder just how many from IRON have seen this film.

In my opinion, Sweeney Todd is the quintessential masterpiece of Tim Burton, and also the best acting performance ever for Johnny Depp. Depp's portrayal of Sweeney was so shocking and unexpected that the Academy had to nominate him for Best Actor, even though they knew the movie was too graphic for some to even watch. Johnny Depp has never been able to equal this performance since... that's why his career has tanked.

If you have not seen this, you should... but be warned it's a musical, and not a musical for the faint of heart. Tim Burton is a master director, and every frame is a work of art. We also have the immortal Alan Rickman. I do miss him so very much. Let me know what you think.

The first time Judge Turpin finds Sweeney's chair...

The last time...

I've seen this when it came out. I REALLY wanted to like this movie, but the fact that it's a musical (and quite a mediocre at that - can't remember a single good theme) spoiled it for me. I like Tim Burton's style, but I this was a miss.

Same. I was very excited for this movie. It had three of my favourite actors, Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman (best Snape eva) and HBC (best Bellatrix eva) but I just couldn't keep myinterest because of the musical theme. Still, the film was visually appealing and had a darka and deeply sad story

The differance between IRON and some rag tag alliance is the fact that we will fight with no reguard to our own nations. Putting the greater good of the whole before ourselves. Victory for all or they will have to fight us to the last point of infa in the last IRON nation. Every so often someone(s) will come around and exemplifie this. Living up to the IRON Values. It gives me great pleaser to baptize three of IRON's up and comers.

I had an advantage because I saw the original Broadway play in Los Angeles in my early 20's. I knew the music, knew what to expect, and I was amazed with this film. My daughters on the other hand... were in shock, and hated the whole thing... until they ripped the soundtrack, listened to the music, and watched it again. Now it's on all their favorites list. I guess it's an acquired taste.

I really like musicals. My favorites are... don't laugh... Beauty and the Beast, Phantom of the Opera, and Sweeney Todd :)
