Trump's SecDef Candidate

http://www.cnn.com/2016/11/19/politics/donald-trump-james-mattis-defense-secretary/index.html

Trump has a handful of candidates for the Secretary of Defense, but none are more qualified than General James 'Mad Dog' Mattis.

If selected, he would require a Congressional Waiver as he has not been retired for 7 years.

I wanted to give some light onto who exactly General Mattis (one of the most respected and beloved Generals of our time) now, so that if Trump makes the right choice and picks Mattis, you can have another side of his story other than what the mainstream media will tell you about this great man.

General Mattis is an amazing leader who truly holds the best interest of his troops, civilians (both ours and theres), and families to his heart. This is a man who retired just 3 years ago and has been serving since the Vietnam War. This is a high ranking officer who got into the pits with his troops and holds multiple awards for his actions during combat. Most sit behind a desk, giving orders and failing to care about the enlisted folks. This is a man who told angry troops overseas that whenever we get mad or harm civilians, Al Qaeda wins. This is a man that said everytime we show compassion and love towards Iraqi civilians, Al Qaeda rolls in its grave. This is a man that kept people to a high standard, and lived at a higher one. This is a man both Bush and Obama recommended to high positions. I can't truly put into words how great of a man this guy is, but there is no one I could imagine being better for this position. He refuses to fail, and he expects the same from those under him (and above him moreso). He is an incredible intellectual. The only issue I see is Mattis has expressed his dislike for politicans (Trump and Hillary both). Mattis holds more support from military members than anyone I can even think of in modern times. He is the Patton and Eisenhower of our general. If you want his actual achievements, they are far too numerous to mention here but google can pull them if you'd like. My Facebook has been flooded with people I served with that were lucky enough to meet this man about their personal encounters and all of them continue to show his amazing personality. Sadly, I never did.

Before they plaster him saying "its fun to shoot people" all over the media, allow me to expand. His full quote was about these 'men' in the Middle East that beat women, hurt kids, and spread fear. He was referring to it being a hell of alot of fun to shoot and fight these 'men' that don't have any manhood.

I just wanted to share my opinions of the man before the media starts twisting him the wrong way, because he is a truly great man and doesn't deserve to be painted in a bad light. Trump was absolutely right when he said "He is the real deal."

P.S. it is hard to control my excitement about Trump even considering this man.

Hate Trump, but if he picks Mattis, its a brilliant move.

I almost live by those words, and he was a commander long after I got out of the Army.

I didn't know him but he's sounding like a good choice for Secretary of Defense.
