Stabbing and shooting in Westminster

Featured Replies

Straight up terrorism. Someone in London that obviously should not have been in London. Hopefully decisions will be made to do something about it. Kill the cancer. The USA stands with the UK... forever and always.

Kind of a lame attempt at a terrorist attack, I mean... the IRA used to do a much better job.

4 dead, 20 injured... a couple dozen assholes doing this and you have a battlefield. I guess you feel it's acceptable? Hey, it's your country, but we'll be here to help you clean up the mess.

Those freaking terrorists are always out to spoil my good time. They better not mess up my vacation next week, or I'll be quite miffed.

Seriously, my thoughts and best wishes go out to everyone who has been touched by this,

Well, it's official. The motive was: "international terrorism"

It's what the guy said. At the time of my posting it, it was only in the news stream of bbc, and I couldn't link it here in that format, but to satisfy your rigorous standards, here you go: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-39363297

Specifically the quote:

In a statement made outside Scotland Yard, Mr Rowley said: "The inquiries in Birmingham, London and other parts of the country are continuing. "It is still our belief - which continues to be borne
out by our investigation - that this attacker acted alone and was inspired by international terrorism. "To be explicit, at this stage we have no specific information about further threats to the public."

My wife and I were gone all day and night yesterday... a rare day off for her, so we took full advantage. I hook up this morning with what's been happening and I'm utterly appalled with the staggering amount of people trying desperately to not call this a terrorist attack on London by a radical Islamic terrorist... why are they trying so hard to protect these people?

Six months ago, Sadiq Khan, the new Mayor of London said that terror attacks are "part and parcel of living in a big city"... so it's just part of the deal, and everybody has to live with it. If you want to see a show, go shopping, or grab a bite at the new trendy cafe... you must endure the ever present danger of being crushed, blown up, or beheaded in the name of Allah. Well I don't agree with that, and it's obviously not something our democracies have ever voted in favor of.

For decades, our wonderful elected leaders, that have some personal vision of a global, one world, borderless earth, have imported people from violent lands, set them up in cozy living places right next to us, and they want to murder everyone that doesn't believe in their God. Has anyone asked us if we want this? Has anyone asked us if this is okay?... uh, no.

A recent survey of British Muslims shows that 26% support Sharia Law, and 4% support suicide bombers. These are the ones that have no problem openly saying this. Numbers like this should cause every respectable Englishman to take a huge broom and sweep all of these people into a cargo plane, fly to any Egyptian airport, and chuck these people off... face plant them onto a sandy tarmac, and say "Don't ever come back to our country... if you do, you will be shot where you stand!".

The primary obligation of any Democratic society is the protection of it's people... they have failed us all. I have always wanted to travel the world... see London, Germany, Italy, France... I will never get to do that, because I'm an American and it's too fucking dangerous. I hate what our leaders have done... and I hate what these people are doing to our world. Rant ended.

And it is a 52y old british national (and birth) who was presumaly high as a kite (either alcohol and/or drugs) and was known for various criminal (non-extremist) affairs and convictions.

What we have here is an "inspired" lone wolf, possibly even going for a death-by-cop scenario.

Claiming various extreme reactions can and will work to get any majority in line, it will however not stop a lone wolf nor a rash decision. Sadiq Khan's words may be hard to stomach, but they are a reality born way before the world even knew of Mohammed.

UK mayor is reflecting on the reality of the current situation, instead of asking people to bury their heads in the sand.

UK also needs a more proactive approach on the shit talkers spreading hate, talk shit, get hit or solitary jail, like dont be stupid and jail them up with other extremists. Let em contemplate stairway to heaven in solitary confinement.

Well said. I can't fathom why Islamist organizations are allowed to operate across Europe in plain sight, when governments should come down on them like a ton of bricks.

Shah, what's your take on Hizb-ut-Tahrir? I believe they have quite the network in Pakistan

Best form of punishment:

Isolation with Justin Beiber "Baby" pumped through the cell.

Only downside is they then go mad and some poor sod has to look after them.

HuT should be kicked in the balls, it's designated as a terrorist organisation in Pakistan and many Arab countries, is banned and it's activists often get 'picked up and disappear'. There was a 'purge' of it's followers about a decade ago from state organisations. Anyway, they're a legal entity in UK.   Which is a problem because with members operating openly, it gives the organisation room to breath and endure and funnel human and monetary resources to other states who have lesser resources to cope with this shit and basically undermine governance in the weaker states. So my friend,  the question is, why the fuck are they being allowed to operate and export shit to us?

On scale of problems where you have Taliban and wanna-be ISIS in the region, HuT is 'relatively' a smaller problem, in terms of fact that they're more on the passive scale of drama rather than Taliban Or ISIS, who actively go blow themselves up and kill people without any discrimination. However, they're like a feeder to more bs, exposing people to extremist ideas who then kinda graduate towards more violent shit. I think UK needs to clamp down on this shit and do us all a favor.

But hey, UK also gives asylum to the biggest mafia boss of Pakistan, who sits and gives hate tele-speeches from London to Karachi on how he'd send bodies in bags if you mess with his shit.

UK govt needs to clamp down on this idiots ASAP! I dont see what they're waiting for? We gotta purge em all, anywhere, everywhere!

That's how I feel, it beggars belief that European countries let organizations like this operate. It's the inability to tell Islam and Islamism apart, and in several instances Islamists are successfully posing as esteemed representative of the Muslim community.

Simple common sense red lines should filter out people. But that's for ideal world. I mean, in an ideal world, you'd agree with me that Muslims are also the most persecuted group by external parties (and obviously internally too by extremists). Your criticism is more objective than your sympathies. :), not an ideal world :).

Quoting myself for posterity.

What do you know, it seems they're taking the first step, which is a small start, but it's stupid, you don't fucking need a task force, you know what the solution is: Solitary confinement for haters.

Grouping up extremists in jail has been a dumb move from get go, that's where all the ISIS founders met each other in Iraq and planned their horror, thats the nerve centre of radicliastion in France, UK etc...The jails, it's the perfect toxic mix, you already have have druggies and criminals holed up, who already have proven tendency towards violence and then in radicalisation they somehow discover redemption on their mistakes instead of correction. You find a lot of common theme amongstany attackers in EU, they all have drug problems, they all have criminal records, they are criminals, frist and foremost and then they get radicalised on their journey towards self desutruction.

This will help for the majority of people radicalizing currently or in the future, sadly it won't help against the small portion who just go zealot on this whole thing. Hope it also won't find new people to radicalize with the "they are banning all your freedom!" type deal.

What prisons need is a "100%" foolproof method of taken zealots into solitary confinement to keep them from "poisoning" the waters. Most people subseptible to the radicalizing itself are also subseptible to deradicalizing, you just need to step in before the zealot-mindset kicks in.

I think those who have a long history of criminal record and drug abuse wouldn't be going towards the oath of self correction.

nor do I think that they are more inclined to zealotry tbh. Remember that the age is severly skewed to 20-30's on these people.

Nah, they find an excuse for the redemption. "I was bad entire life, world's out to get me too, but here, the skewed version of religion would lead me to correctness and perhaps a better afterlife, weeee"
