I recently had the idea to add up how much time I've spent playing Bethesda RPGs according to Steam. My list:

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: 991 hours

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: 761 hours

Fallout 3: 1100 hours (approximately, only one I don't have on Steam)

Fallout: New Vegas: 1000 hours

Fallout 4: 598 hours (and counting, close to finishing MQ not NEARLY close to finishing the game)

TOTAL: 4450 hours or 185 days of continuous gameplay. Worst part: I have no regrets

Thankfully I only have 3 thousand hours from those games...

I'm playing Skyrim at the moment. What do you make of the Thieves Guild? Ordinarily I'm a chaotic good character and so I gravitate towards the Thieves Guild immediately, but I'm not sure I like this lot. (I'm only at the start, so haven't seen much of them yet.) Are they less.... er.... nice than the Thieves Guild in Oblivion or Morrowind?

Funny thing, I never did the Thieves Guild... With my sneaky character I went with the Dark Brotherhood, and I don't really like "dual memberships" for RP reasons.

I'm planning on doing the side quest to exterminate the entire DB. :P

I love the Dark Brotherhood, probably because I gravitate toward Rogue-type characters. They always seem like the hardest but most rewarding characters to build.

My most successful builds in Fallout NV, however, have been unarmed and melee. There is something very satisfying about power fisting someone (don't take this out of context).

My favorite builds by game:

Oblivion- Female Wood Elf thief (Stealth/Archery - Thieves Guild)

Skyrim- Male Imperial Battlemage (Destruction Magic/Heavy Armor/One-handed - College of Winterhold/Empire)

Fallout 3- Female Sniper (Stealth/Small Guns - Neutral Karma sided with BOS)

New Vegas- Male Scientist (Energy Weapons/explosives - Sided with Mr. House)

Fallout 4- Female Charmer/Scientist (Stealth/Balanced with ranged weapons - Sided with Institute)

I have wasted a lot more time in skyrim than you have :P

I ran out of things to explore, which is kinda weird if you think about it if you compare it with the other games.

Nordic barbarian heavy armor, two handed battle axe, one handed sword and bow. I like playing tanks but need the bowskill to take down the dragons. I finished almost all the questlines main quest, companion, thieves guild, daedric quests, thanes of different towns, vampire, dragonborn questline in solthstein etc etc. Hence the hundred of hours spent :P

Um, they might be a little less nice I'm not sure. I think they do go by the same basic rules as the ones before. But that quest line definitely gets pretty interesting and epic from what I remember. I enjoyed it.

I played through it & DB questline with a Khajiit using just stealth and dagger for the most part.

Fallout 4- Female Charmer/Scientist (Stealth/Balanced with ranged weapons - Sided with Institute)

Sided with the Institute? Eww

I played a Male Rifle/Power Suit focused character and sided with BOS. :P

I thought this was the reason everyone spent 3,000+ hours on PornHu - i mean, Fallout

What do you mean you need a sneaky character to be in Brotherhood of Darkness and Thieves Guild?  My characters aren't sneaky in the least, more like bricks through plate glass windows.  I managed to complete both quest lines successfully.

Just started playing Morrowwind.  Not bad, I used up my my total data for the month downloading it.  I haven't really shagged around with it yet.  Is it any good?  I liked Skyrim, so I figured I'd like this one too.

I didn't try it. I'm not a graphics whore, but there is a line over which the dated graphics break my immersion. Same reason why I didn't play the old Deus Ex

When I read the title, I feared we're about to have an EA moment.

Still miss Red Alert.

Skyrim - Reason I dozed off with eyes open during my MBA! Was a tough life, considering half the grades were for class participation meaning you had to come prepared in advance for what you're about to study. Struggle.

I don't know how many hours I wasted playing those games.

I do know that they (Command and Conquer), are all available on Origin and will run (for the most part), on a Windows 10 machine.

They are but still they're old by today's standards and clunky in that sense.

Red alert was the first multiplayer game I played, using 56k modems dialing to friends. It was so much fun.

I wish they made Age of Empires and Red Alert great again!.

I've seriously considered throwing down my investments + Kickstarter and getting a team to make a game that' has similar gameplay but modern in terms of UI and UX.

Age of Empires

I've actually been searching for the old AoE II collection and haven't been able to find it anywhere. Solely want it for nostalgia purposes.

you wanna elder scrolls game that is SUPER LONG but fun af, Find Morrowind GOTY, I have had sooooo many hours just dancing around, seeing the world, and just overall doing the quests which have soo much more of an impact, like if you join a great house, the other 2 great houses hate you because you are a part of a rival faction, and your skills are important to actually rank up, if they aren't high enough, you don't go up, they really make the roleplaying aspect fantastic
