[MK-3] Pick Your Power X/Y - Town Wins

Pick Your Power X/Y Mafia

Mechanics

At the beginning of the game, there is a draft to determine the order for the bidding on roles.

Once this has happened, each player will send in the role they'd like to be. Only one role from each "slot" will be awarded.

As such, in the event multiple players select the same role (or the same "slot"), the player highest in the draft order wins the role, whilst the others remain Vanilla.

Roles are then distributed and Day 1 begins.

Throughout the bidding phases, the thread is locked, however, mafia may collude privately during this time and then again throughout the day.

Step 1: The Draft

Once alignments have been dealt out, each player must send a (whole) number back to the mod, with the lowest unique number winning the draft. Second place is awarded to the second lowest unique number and so on, until all unique numbers have been exhausted. Next placed on the list is the lowest doubled numbers, followed by the next lowest doubled numbers, and so on. Continue this same process for triples and quadruples.

In cases of multiple players selecting the same number, the higher placed between these players is chosen randomly.

Step 2: Bidding for Roles

Once the draft order has been determined, each player PM's the moderator of the game with the role they'd like to be. Roles are unisex, in the sense, that they can be selected by Mafia or Town. So, it's possible to have a Mafia 1-Shot Vig or a Town 1-Shot Vig, and so on.

Here are the list of roles players select from:

1)Night 3 Vigilante OR Vengeful

2)1-Shot Vigilante OR 1-Shot PGO

3)Cop OR 1-Shot Redirector

4)1-Shot Commuter OR 1-Shot Watcher

5)Doctor OR Roleblocker

6)Universal Backup OR Role Cop

7)Neighborizer OR Fruit Vendor

8)Jailkeeper OR Tracker

Players

1. SeaBeeGipson

2. Lachiton

3. Brewersalliance

4. Canik, Town Tracker, was killed in cold blood on Night 3.

5. KevinH, Mafia Universal Backup, was arrested on Day 3.

6. Vgmmaster, Mafia goon, committed suicide on Day 4.

11. Robert2424

12. GoldIron,1-Shot Watcher, was lynched on Day 1

13. iSocialism

14. FrigidInferno, Townie Cop, was shot on Night 2.

Rules

  • During the Day phase each player may speak and vote in-thread.
  • If a player receives the majority of the available votes during the Day, they are lynched.
  • At deadline, a player with half-majority will be lynched.
  • If two players have reached half-majority and have the same number of votes, the player who reached that number of votes first will be lynched.
  • You may vote No Lynch.
  • After the Day, the game goes to Night.
  • The game thread is closed during the Night. The Mafia can talk to each other at Night as well as during Day.
  • All Active Roles may submit actions via PM at Night.
  • The Mafia can, as a faction, kill one player at Night.
  • After the Night, the game goes to Day.
  • All dead players (lynched or killed) can no longer participate in the game.
  • Basic rules for maintaining the integrity of the game thread are in effect (i.e. players may not quote their Role PMs, nor may they discuss the game outside the game thread unless otherwise permitted, etc.)
  • The game is won when only one faction remains in the game.
  • You may pm me questions or ask them in the game thread.
  • When voting, please enter your vote on a separate line of your post so that it isn't easily missed.
Game Days will last as many real-life days as there are players alive, though the day lasts for a minimum of 7 days at all times.Game Nights will last 48 hours but will include at least one weekday.

Looking at who's left alive and what roles are still around, here's what we're looking at presently. Some roles are claimed, other stuff while not confirmed, I believe we can make safe deductions on. Concerning the PGO, I presume the roleblocker would not stop the PGO from going off as it's a passive role and not activated. Please correct me if I'm wrong there however.

1) Night 3 Vigilante OR Vengeful - Unknown

2) 1-Shot Vigilante OR 1-Shot PGO - Unknown

5) Roleblocker - Lego

6) Universal Backup - Kevin

7) Fruit Vendor - Unknown

8) Tracker - Canik

Reading the night scenes from night 1 and 2, we can deduce that SBG and Lachiton are not the Fruit Vendor

If the PGO exists, we can deduce the following are not the PGO (does not rule them out as a one night Vigilante though if that role exists instead)

1. SeaBeeGipson (given fruit)

2. Lachiton (given fruit / investigated)

4. Canik (not investigated, tracker claim)

5. KevinH (tracked, Backup / Watcher claim)

9. Rafay (roleblocked)

10. legoboyvdlp (tracked, roleblocker claim

11. Robert2424 (roleblocked)

That leaves myself, brewers, and isoc as potential PGOs.

With Frigid's death, we can confirm that Lachiton is town. Everyone else's alignments are in the dark (as far as the cop goes).

Going back to my comments a few hours ago, not knowing how many potential vigilantes we may or may not have, night 3 could be a very bloody night.

with the potential for the night 3 vigi, if there is a PGO i am sure he will probably go alert tonight.  tho i am not sure how we can eliminate some of those people from being a PGO, as its a 1 shot, so if they chose not to arm themselves, nothing would have happened, so SBG, Lachiton, Rafay, and Robert could also be PGO's (unless I am missing something here)

But yeah if we do lynch Isoc, which does look like the inevitable choice and he flips town, if we have a townie vigi they should def shoot KevinH tonight, since he would clearly be lying about who visited frigid and would probably be the killer.

I also agree with Lachiton, we should not end the day early.  So i am going to UNVOTE just to make sure we dont accidentally end the day early (i am not flip flopping, I just want to make sure the day goes on.  Isoc is who i think should be lynched)

Also, we need to hear from everyone on this.  No more keeping quiet.

Actually it's a good idea. It allows what is going to happen anyways. Kevin vs myself wagon race. It will then put the game at d4 with more night action done. Kevin has lied and the only way to figured that out is by lynching one of us. Delaying truth only hurts the town. Either Kevin watched me NOT sumbit an action last night, or he's lying. Both of those are the truth.

the watcher does not watch what actions someone submits, it watches someone and tells you who targets them that night.  you are thinking of the tracker.

So either Kevin watched Frigid get targeted by you, or he is making this up.  those are the two options

The PGO doesn't "go alert" necessarily, as it's a passive ability. In this case, what 1-shot means is if somebody targets the PGO, that person is dead. However, any subsequent targets will survive as the PGO will have used his one bullet. The only thing that throws a wrench into this theory is if somehow the roleblocker nullifies the PGO. I don't believe that is a common trait however.

I know the difference between the two. Read my statement again. Kevin says he's the watcher. Said he watched the fridge last night. Doesn't say anyone's name about who he saw. MKs post make it sounds like there was more than one at the fridge death. Meaning if that is true. There should be names not a blank statement after the claim. Is he actually the watcher why won't he say the names of who he saw. My statement was that he "watched" me NOT sumbit my action. I wasn't his target anyways. As in I didn't sumbit a NA.

Who else would have visited Frigid? You and Kevin visited him and as per flavor text Frigid visited Canik. Canik tracked Kevin, Lego roleblocked Rafay, fruit vendor visited me. So only remaining roles are vig/PGO or N3 vig/vengeful. If vig visited Frgid then it is to kill him and I am sure town vig won't kill a cop.

So yeah with all that in mind, Kevin is right to say that only one person visited Frigid.

Kevin did mention the names he saw visit Frigid. The only other name to have come up was yours. Reread his post again. I even colored it for you in case you missed it. Now of course, Kevin could be lying, but time will tell in that regard.

Canik is indeed a tracker.  He might be a scum tracker but he saw me visit FrigidInferno.

I was given the role of Universal Backup.  I became the Watcher after the first one died.

I targeted FrigidInferno last night with the Watcher ability since he was the cop and would be the most logical choice for the scum to hit.

Who else targeted FrigidInferno? iSocialism.

I was trying to be subtle in my accusation, but there is no doubt in my mind that he's scum.

As far as multiple people at Frigid's death, it could be construed in a few different ways. Did the mafia travel together for story purposes or did the mafia act alone? Regardless, if Kevin is telling the truth, there were four people in the same vicinity reading the death scene that we can put together. Frigid (the victim), Canik (who he investigated), Kevin (watching Frigid), Isoc (the killer).

And sniped by Lachiton.

And no Isoc. Kevin is saying one person targeted Frigid other than himself. That person is you.

If only one person visited fridge wouldn't that be Kevin

Now now you're really reaching here. You do know how watcher role works right? Ofcourse you know, you have played mafia long enough to know that Kevin will get names for those who targeted Frigid besides him. So yes Kevin visited Frigid and he saw you visiting him too. Now Kevin can be lying through his teeth but that doesn't refute the fact that if Kevin is indeed a watcher, the only other person to visit Frigid has to be the killer.

As for Canik, I am still iffy about him. Perhaps he can answer why of all people he tracked Kevin? Lego blocking Rafay made sense as Rafay is Rafay. Combined that with leading the mislynch of TW, his actions don't exactly scream town.

I tracked Kevin b/c it was obvious Rafay would be under the gun. He was TW's #2 suspect after me. So Mafia probably wouldn't use him to perform the night kill and roleblocker/town vig were likely to target him if they didn't target me. So I went for someone less obvious so I'd be more likely to get info.

I was curious as to why Kevin? I didnt see you point any sort of accusations at him, neither did anyone, unless I missed something. Turned out to be a good choice but seemed to me out of the blue.

Well, that is a big part as to 'why Kevin?'. Because he wasn't Rafay and it would be unexpected. But also it didn't sit real well with me how he stayed off the TW/Canik wagons yesterday and voted for an unrealistic option - iSoc - and I was leaning towards iSoc being town at the time.

iSoc's defence is terrible.

Kevin, I don't know why you would have chose the backup over the role cop, unless your scum. Also you have proven yourself scum, by saying you watched the fridge, and not noting who else you say, actually you never did. You just hinted my name after your question. Shouldn't you know who visited? Solid defense is not a thing in this "defense".

1. It has been stated mames, you do not get to choose.

2. Backup is the more traditional town role... role cop is more useful for scum in this game.

3. Wrong, Kevin watched and saw you visited him. He knew he himself was there! We know people targeted Canik, right, looks like frigid targeted him too. But probably "friendly" or else Rafay, as Canik did not die and I blocked Rafay.

4. Bad OMGUS. Bad blame shifting.

I am voting you in exactly 7 days. You are scum.

Also someone said lachiton sniped frigid. Um, Frigid was town and not insane, so how could he kill Frigid? Unless he was the pgo?

I believe Canik to have a high probability of being town.  If he was scum with iSocialism, then he would have known that I saw iSocialism deliver the kill.

It could be a preemptive attempt to get me lynched first before iSocialism but I think the scum would rather try for another power role than try to lynch a 1-shot watcher with his ability used up.

A question for MK - If the one shot vigilante was roleblocked, would his shot be refunded or is it wasted?

Obviously, not asking you to confirm if the role is in the game. Just wondering what that scenario would be if possible to confirm.

iSoc's defence is terrible.

I presume you're referring to my post about the sniping. I wasn't saying Lachiton sniped Frigid. I was writing my post while Lachiton posted something similar a minute previously (so Lach sniped me). Should have prefaced it with an EBWOP. My mistake. I always forget this forum merges posts together if they're quick after each other.

So yeah even though iSoc is 99.99999999999999% scum, lets not end the day by hammering him. This will help scum and iSoc was even urging to vote and end the day, making his scumminess more obvious :P

We need to find out our next lynches as well town PR targets through our discussions. With vigilantes in the mix who may be scum aligned, we can hardly spare a mislynch. Now coming to that, provided iSoc is scum, who may be his scum partners? I feel iSoc was always going to be the fall guy, him taking part in lynches, even hammering, as well as doing scum kills. So I guess we can rule out that he is vigilante. I have a feeling Rafay may be the other scum, but you can never be sure with Rafay and it is extremely frustrating for town in how he plays. That is why scum never kill him. So I think theres a very experienced scum who is pulling the strings behind the scenes and making sure that he himself looks town to everyone else.

I have my doubts on either of the two - SBG or VGM. Thoughts?

with the potential for the night 3 vigi, if there is a PGO i am sure he will probably go alert tonight.  tho i am not sure how we can eliminate some of those people from being a PGO, as its a 1 shot, so if they chose not to arm themselves, nothing would have happened, so SBG, Lachiton, Rafay, and Robert could also be PGO's (unless I am missing something here)

But yeah if we do lynch Isoc, which does look like the inevitable choice and he flips town, if we have a townie vigi they should def shoot KevinH tonight, since he would clearly be lying about who visited frigid and would probably be the killer.

From x/y mafia role list, it says they may chose to arm themsevels, so it sounds like they have to activate it

Thanks for that. I completely missed that as I was reading up on the role itself and not necessarily how the role relates to this setup. Completely blows my theory out of the water then.

https://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Pick_Your_Power_X/Y

It has the list of all the roles. Now that's not saying MK didn't modify anything, so I could be wrong.

Lol, I'm getting a highlight reel going for your guys 99.9999999 % wrong assumptions. Kevin wanna join, you will have less work after d4. Funny how the 1 shot didn't care to share the information right right away when he was voting for me. Instead just kept it under wraps until the left hook from canik.

Rereading through day 3, I agree with everyone else that we have scum between Kevin and Isoc. Between the two, Kevin has a solid defense and Isoc is screaming OMGUS from the top of the mountains, so with what we know, Isoc appears to be the lynch to go for. That said, if we mislynch here AND we have a town vigilante, I'd argue they should go for the remaining living between Kevin and Isoc. If we land correctly, it gets a little trickier. Possibly Rafay or SBG. Another name that seems to get overlooked is Robert. I feel I don't see him around all that often either.

Concerning Robert, he is the only one to vote for our cop on day 2 and did not have a hand in the Canik / Warrior voting.  While he was roleblocked night 1, there's the chance for him to be mafia and not submit the kill. Same applies to Rafay in that regard (RB'd night 2).

Between these two lines of thought, we have one mafia between Kevin / Isoc. We have at least one other mafia between Rafay / SBG / Robert on the basis that all three have been on the quiet side. One possible thought is that whoever is sending in the mafia kills was the same person both nights. So if Rafay and Robert are both scum, but if Kevin or Isoc was the one doing all the kills, it would keep them safe from a roleblock or tracker. While I'm not the most familiar with Robert, having seen Rafay in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if the mafia would try to keep him hiding in the shadows somewhat. That, or completely throw him under the bus. Not sure which.

While writing this, one other thought popped into my head concerning Canik. While I don't necessarily think he's scum for sure, there's an interesting narrative to be had here. If he's a mafia tracker, he could have decided to buddy up with Lego. With deducing that Lego was the roleblocker and knowing he'd at minimum survive until day 3 (with the cop being an obvious night kill target) or possibly even day 4 (with Lego's death possibly?), it's one hell of a gambit if him and Kevin are both in on this. But one that could pan out if we stop suspecting him. After all, let's not all forget The Warrior's efforts in tracking down all of Canik's posts. That said, between Canik and Lego, I trust Lego more. Either way, if one of these two do happen to be scum, I don't suspect the other to be at that point.

AND we have a town vigilante, I'd argue they should go for the remaining living between Kevin and Isoc .

maybe, if he hasn't been role blocked while trying to use. He might have double used it. Such as, targeting someone the mafia was already going after. I know I would have use that role until tonight, or maybe further done the road. Definitely not before though
