I only saw the 1998 movie, but that was pretty trash. Was the show better?Danger, Danger! Will Robinson
It was a very whimsical sci fi show. Some of the plot points were beyond ridiculous but Lost in Space possessed a certain charm to it. Its been argued that the show was basically Gilligan's Island in space.

When you're 6,7,8 years old... it didn't take much to entertain. You would look at it today and say to yourself... "I can't believe I watched this"... but another favorite, Star Trek, began around the same time, and I can still watch it the same as I did then.
Something I didn't realize when I was 7... Dr. Smith was flaming gay.

Robbie the robot scared the young me, i had seen him or one like him in a sci-fi film called Forbidden planet.

I thoroughly enjoyed it as a kid, and I loved watching the reruns. I just wished some of the episode plotlines were more plausible.

I'm a french trying to be expert in the speaking of french. Languages configure minds. I stopped german the day a teacher said me "you're too french in your phrases, they have no sense in german !" after 6 years.

Well I watched the first 2 episodes last night, and they did a great job of creating a good, and convincing story so far. The 800 pound gorilla in the room... that is completely ignored so far, is how John and Maureen Robinson have 3 children, and the eldest daughter is black. I have high hopes that it will be eventually explained in the story why Judy Robinson looks more like Beyoncé Knowles than Miley Cyrus, but it wouldn't be the first time Hollywood wants everyone to be completely ignorant of biology.
Dr. Smith is a women this time, and she's not even a doctor... she stole the identity of a doctor. The most fascinating change is the robot... nice story going on with this amazing twist. Not finished yet
