June 12, 20188 yr comment_947342 nah this is just the 12 time in 20 years NK has said they wont do nukes. Not one binding thing has been signed, no goals defined, and nothing of any value has happened. This is still just empty theater and mostly a propaganda win for NK Report
June 13, 20188 yr Author comment_947345 I'm still incredibly curious to see how this all plays out. NK appears to actually be going the distance (pun intended) in seeking some form of conflict resolution. Heard some stuff about Kim being invited to the White House at a future date. Even if NK is doing this all for show and theater, at least they will tone down their aggressive behavior for the near future, lest any progress Kim has toward demonstrating peace will get thrown in the garbage. June 13, 20188 yr comment_947349 Yeah, it seems NK was the clear beneficiary here. Kim got the recognition and legitimacy he desperately wanted while not promising anything concrete in return. Despite Trump having a reputation for being a "tough negotiator" (amongst his fanbase anyway) he sure wasn't negotiating very tough here. Maybe he blew his load at the G7 summit? That said, we'll see how it goes. US strategy thus far clearly wasn't very successful in preventing NK from getting nukes, so maybe a new approach will yield better results. Report

It would more than likely get him killed. Does anyone really believe that if this agreement is broken, North Korea will survive the year? No they would not survive... and no one on Earth will do anything about it. Trump demonstrated that the G7 is nothing more than a photo op for current leaders of select countries. They get together, talk about how great they are, drink, take pictures, go back where they came from, get busy doing nothing, and everything gets worse. For all intents and purposes they signed a statement saying that they will to attempt to agree in the future that a statement was signed. Nothing happened, nothing changed. June 13, 20188 yr comment_947372 I'm quite dazzled by the movie trailer that Trump made for Kim. It's definitely not conventional diplomacy. It's too early to tell if it will work, but if it does, I think that will be the thing that goes down in the history books as a turning point for how to approach diplomacy. Report

It's empty theater. This is what you want to believe... that's okay, but what you are missing is the most important person that believes it's binding in every way, and that is President Donald J. Trump. This is why you guys have been wrong about everything since he thought about running for President. He already knows what must be done, how long it takes, and how to contain it. He will be on this until it's complete, and he doesn't do things the same dysfunctional way everybody else has done them in the past. He judges everyone, and even himself, on results. Failure is not an option. Winning is everything. He will get this done, and he'll get it done fast. Underestimating Trump has been a losing position since day one of his campaign. Again... good luck. June 13, 20188 yr comment_947411 Trump already won, he got his photo op... About that montage, since when is the White House making NK propaganda? Basically some narrative about Kim becoming "powerfull"? The guy is already that and more. Heck Trump was probably very jelly cause he met someone that actually runs a country like a business Anyway, one of the negotiating terms should be 235U for food, now that would be a nice one to have. June 13, 20188 yr comment_947413 ya kay there lys. If it helps you sleep at night. Personally I'm not gonna care till someone in the state department can use the worlds "Complete" "Verifiable" and "Irreversible" in a sentence, and NK signs something binding to that same effect. Until then this is nothing but empty theater, something everyone involved has proven themselves quite good at. Report

I don't believe anything they have to say. : "NBC quoted five unidentified U.S. officials as saying that in recent months North Korea had stepped up production of enriched uranium for nuclear weapons, even as it engaged in diplomacy with the United States" That statement has more holes in it than swiss cheese. July 1, 20188 yr comment_948655 AhemI've heard the story... if it's true then we will be going to war. I would rather give the benefit of the doubt until the word comes down from Trump himself. It's his call. There are too many people doing everything they can to blow up everything he's trying to do. It doesn't matter to them who gets hurt... they just want him to fail no matter the cost. Things are starting to happen in Iran as well... big turnout and strong US presence in that Paris gathering this past weekend. The Putin meeting will be all about Syria. There's a lot going on. I honestly hope we dont have to go to war, but if they wont do it on their own, war is the only way it will happen. I hope NK is not foolish enough to think they can trick us and lie about it and think we wont find out... Sure they might talk tough, but deep down they have to know how absolutely screwed they are if they ever entered into an actual armed conflict with us, so either Kim is truly the stupidest leader in world history and he thinks he can trick the us or win a war against us or they hopefully mean to keep their word. Any reckless actions means SK gets the brunt of the push-back, and NK doesn't need "WMD" for that! It doesn't matter how many haughty know-it-all's that want to compete for the primetime first to declare Trump has really screwed up this time, or he's just out of his depth on this one, you just have to understand that it doesn't matter to him how thin you believe the deal is... he made the deal with him, and now it's personal. July 7, 20188 yr comment_948909 Yes alot of his promises have been held, which isn't hard when they go "will undo X that Obama did", has he actually done something new? Or are we taking these tariffs as something new?The President cannot create new law, he can only enforce existing law. Enforcing existing law is treated like something new every day by Democrats and their media friends, because the previous President didn't enforce existing law for 8 years, and not enforcing existing law became the new normal. They are shocked and mortified when a President comes along and actually does what he says he will do. Pretty much everything Obama did was done by Executive Order, and can be undone by a new Executive Order. This is how it was so easy for Trump to virtually erase the entire Obama Presidency from history with the stroke of a pen. A President that does everything without Congress is a President that will be soon forgotten, and history will probably mark him as the entire reason for the Trump Presidency. It's Barack Obama's fault we have Donald Trump... that's rich. The left claimed a scalp they have wanted for the last year and a half. Scott Pruitt was amazingly effective at dismantling the Progressive power base known as the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA had been corrupted into an unfettered and unrestrained behemoth of ultimate power, impervious to challenge, and sheltered from oversight. Scott Pruitt killed it. But, Mr. Pruitt was a little unfettered and unrestrained as a person, which made himself an easy target. Democrats are not often careful of what they wish for... they got Scott's resignation... but now they have Andrew Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler will be more effective than Scott, and Mr. Wheeler does not carry the name, or baggage, of Mr. Pruitt. Thank you for your service, and the resignation Scott! Yes, the tariffs are a very new thing. No previous President had the nuts to do this. It's so new, no one knows what to expect. I hear it's a dangerous move, but I also hear... if it works, it will be another economic explosion. More pressure on Congress to do something about immigration... we will need more people to fill all the jobs. Report
July 8, 20188 yr comment_948920 Trump doesn't have the balls to actually go to war, calling that right now. What would that so called war even be based on? The fact that the US and NK signed something that has for all intents and purposes no actually meaning expect we talked about our days and shook hands afterwards. What did people actually expect when that piece of paper was signed? That Kim was going to destroy all his nukes and call it a day? Even if that was the case, what do NK have to gain from it? All that Trump did was boast about what he had accomplished that day, but never did he mention what he had to give in return. So either Trump didn't accomplish anything that day which means he doesn't need to give something in return, or he made a deal with NK and his end of the bargain is something that he can't possibly bring back home to his followers. Given the fact that NK is just proceeding like nothing happened, you'd probably guess which one applies. Report
July 8, 20188 yr comment_948927 Trump doesn't have the balls to actually go to war, calling that right now. What would that so called war even be based on? Opinion noted. Other famous quotes... "He'll never run", "He'll never get the nomination", "He'll never be President", "He'll destroy the economy"... there are many others that are less innocuous, or still up in the air at this point, but you get the idea. Going to war with North Korea would be the easiest part because we are still at war with North Korea. The war has never ended. I'll give you a hint on how it would go down… Within the first few minutes the border forces would be eliminated and all power and communications would be disabled. Then the fun begins. Keep in mind that Trump only gives the order... execution would be from Secretary James Mattis. All that Trump did was boast about what he had accomplished that day, but never did he mention what he had to give in return. What did Trump give in return? I saw a meeting where Little Kimmy signed an agreement. In Trumps mind, it's considered he signed it in blood. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. He postponed some war games that cost a lot of money, are completely unnecessary, and are only done to intimidate North Korea. I see no concessions at all. Report
