if you open the door, there's a 50% chance the killer could run into your property to finish off the kill and eventually kill you and your family. Is that still a risk worth taking?

There is always risk. I believe we should do whatever good we are able to do.

Well according to the OP, you described the man as "the killer"

Why should it bother me that I let a killer die? If anything I'm doing the world a favor

I voted Take The Risk. However, my circumstances are rather unique. I live in an area with a First Responder arrival time of 2 minutes, and I am armed. So the killer would have to make his move as I am helping the wounded man into my enclosed porch if he has any hope of actually having a semi successful chance at killing me.
I take it the wounded man and the killer are 2 separate people? Or is the wounded man secretly the killer who may or may not choose to kill again?

Idk if I could turn away someone who would die if I did not help them. On the other hand, I really, REALLY don’t want to die. I like to think I would call 911 and try to make him comfortable until help arrived. You did not say what the odds are of me being harmed if I help him, that might have some bearing on my decision. His being a father has no bearing on this to me, his life is sacred with or without kids.

Addendum: DM posted while I was writing. I also live in an area with very rapid emergency response time, which may be shaping my thinking - good point DM. I’m also assuming the wounded guy is not dangerous.

I live on base, If there was a stabbing, Security forces would be here in less then a Minute from me calling them. Even if this man, somehow managed to get inside my house, he only has a knife. Backup is on the way, and I have knifes also at least. I'm wouldn't go down without a fight, and he wouldn't be able to get away. Secruity forces would lock down the gates, dogs, ect. The killer is fucked. 

 

I take the man in, save his life, and if the killer comes, he better hope he is fast, cause I do know how to disarm people with a knife. 

 

plus my wife has Paramedic training, and is learning to becoming a doctors assistant. The man is very likely to live.

I’m assuming he’s not a killer, you could read the OP either way. Also I’m not the judge and jury, how do I know he deserves to die? If I thought he was a murderer I’d be less inclined to risk my life, but I’m not in a position to play god.

The man is still alive. There is no mention of how he got in that situation or mention of any other people. He has not been killed yet so therefore the killer cannot be assumed to be another person. Samus also address it as "he has three kids." That immediately follows Samus saying "the killer". Therefore, Samus is describing the killer as having three kids. So why would the killer having three kids matter if he was not the same man that was bleeding?

There is a killer locally and this man is injured by said killer in the area, he appears at your door stop needing help to escape from the killer.

How do I know the killer was the one to injury this man? How do I know he isn't actually the killer and was injured from attacking someone but they defended themselves? Did I witness the attempted murder?

i'd take the risk, because thats the kind of person i am and i'd hope if i was in the same position someone would help me
