The scary thing about Pennsylvania is that 42% still voted for such horrible candidates and refuse to vote for someone who doesn't have an ® next to their name.
The scary thing about the entire country is that everyone is voting for that reason. If Congress would follow the Constitution, quit trying to legislate social issues, and we simply ratified an amendment to determine the time when a life is entitled to Constitutional protection, most issues would be solved in a matter of a few years. Whenever either party tries to subvert the Constitution, we will have bigger problems.

Back in 2008-10, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid had super majorities in Congress. They spent two years fighting over healthcare and did nothing but cause healthcare costs to increase. They didn't do immigration, climate change, abortion, equity... or anything else they claim are the "existential threats". They did nothing, when they could have done anything they wanted. All they wanted to do was to raid the treasury, enrich their supporters, and solidify their power. If they solve problems, then they won't have the issue to fight Republicans anymore.

Climate Change: Attempt with ACES, Republicans in the senate wouldn't even sniff on it.
Abortion: continued support while keeping federal $$ from being used (as Republicans scream about), whats there to say, Roe existed...
Equity: ARRA (2009) with an extention in 2010 that softended the 2008 recession started by trade/stock market excesses allowed to fester due to "capitalism without borders!" Also largly beliefed payed for itself.
And your analysis is a perfect mirror for Republicans aswell, hows that Trump tax cut that sunsetted for individuals but not corperations treating you? And the deficit it struck? Let alone having the Republican agenda become "fight the libs" over the last 2 decades.
