Well, considering that everything in the good ol' USA is the "right" way, then isn't Australia upside down, with backwards toilets and people who drive on the wrong side of the roads?

The direction of toilet flushing is determined by the coreolis effect and depends on positioning in the northern or southern hemisphere, therefore isn't it more likely that I was refering to hemispherical persperctive and not geopolitical?

Isn't drainage speed relative to the Earth's rotation the determining factor of the coriolis effect rather than size?
(though to be fair Australian toilets use about 1/3 the water that American ones use so the water drains before any rotation begins, the up side being we waste less water and don't splash as much
)

Why would you think that?
Don't bathtubs rotate differently in the different hemispheres when they drain as well, despite having no jets to affect direction?
